Space is a key to understand the nomads' culture whose living based on space remove.Anthropology and sociology have a "spatial turn" of theory in the mid-20 th century and abundant theories. However, there are still few case studies in Chinese, far less than the theoretical studies. There is room for further theoretical dialogue and practice. In this article I refer "cognitive mapping" to explain the spatial perception of the Aksay Kazakh pastoralists, and how this perception is concretely displayed in space practice, which in turn produces group behaviors and affects community interaction and development. This thesis is mainly divided into three parts. The first part is the background introduction, and the second part discusses the pastoralists who mapped the traditional cognitive images into physical spaces, creating self-adapted spaces. The third part analyzes the mutual production of space perception and practice, which forms their dynamic under the changes of modernization. The existence and change of the Kazakh pastoralists' traditional space perception have promoted a series of space practices, which interact with the government's spatial planning. In some cases, they found commonalities in spatial planning and formed the joint force of space production. While the inconsistent deviated from the original space production, creating some problems.Traditional space concepts have been challenged by the modernization, and some pastoralists' perceptions of space have changed.A correct understanding of pastoralist's spatial perception and practice has positive significance for community governance and the healthy development of the community.
