Research Of The Xinjiang Kazak Nomadic Settling Down

The nomadic life style is the result of natural selection and environmental adaptation. However, due to the harsh natural environment and the frangibility of nomadic economy, as well as the guidance of national ethnic policy, it is inevitable that the nomad chose the life style of settling down. The Kazak, having a population over a million--the biggest among the Xinjiang four greatest minorities are mainly distributed in the frontier of northern Xinjiang district, such as Erie, Tower City, Altai, etc. The geography environment is complicated at these places, where natural disasters happen frequently. The harsh natural environment and the momadic life style led to a relatively lower economic and cultural level. . The nomads and their life style are very important to the goal of creating and keeping stable and prosperous boarder areas for our nation, and the only solution is the life style of settling down The settling down of Xinjiang Kazak nomads is a gradual process guided by the national national policy. The settling down process has been shown to be an important step that greatly help the development of Xinjiang national minorities, the realization of the national equality, and the demonstration of the advantages of our national district autonomy policy.This paper intends to conceive a new idea of constituting a reasonable settling down policy for nomads by analyzing and demonstrating the background, present conditions, the subsequent changes and questions, as well as the counter-plans of settling down.With the historical development of a concrete nationlity as the thread, with the belief that culture is the foundation for a nation's the survival and development, this study focus on the development, and practice of the CCP's nomad settling down policy. Contents and methods from multiple subjects, for example, ethnology, national theories, national historiography, and national economics etc. have been utilized in this study.This paper aims to exert the leading role and practical function of CCP's nomad settling down policies in the process of settling down by treating the Xinjiang Kazak nomad's settling down as the main studying object and from the main contents of present condition, the subsequent changes and questions and the counter-plans.
