A Research On The Protection And Inheritance Of The Traditional Sport "Stilt Race" Of The Tujia In Western Hunan

Nowadays,with the continuous development of social economy,to satisfy people's spiritual and cultural pursuit and to enhance people's cultural confidence has been promoted as one of the national development strategies.The demand for carrying forward the traditional Chinese culture is constantly rising,arousing much attention in every social field and level.As a national traditional sport with unique appreciation,fierce competition,mass entertainment and high mass participation,Stilt Race is very popular in Miao area of Tujia along the border of Hunan,Hubei,Chongqing and Guizhou provinces because it is believed as an important traditional sport for the local people.Meanwhile,it is also believed as important part of traditional ethnic culture,which reflects the cultural creation and cultural accumulation in the process of living and manufacturing among the laboring people.This thesis starts from the historical origin,sports characteristics,protection and inheritance of Stilt Race,which is one of Tujia's traditional sports resources in Western Huna and then uses the means of scientific protection to broaden the path of inheritance.By adopting the methods of the literature,this paper is devoted to the research on the favorable conditions and restrictive factors of the protection and inheritance for Stilt Race to provide a theoretical basis for its development in Western Hunan,which not only radiates the development of national and traditional sports in Hunan province,but also provides a reference for the development of the traditional sports in minority areas of China in the future.This research shows that under the different impact of the cultural development of modern sports,the lacking ability of organizing and managing sports from the government at all levels and the relevant departments of cultural management,the less attention about sports from school,the insufficient consciousness of inheritance from people and the special equipment from Stilt Race,there exists one condition that Stilt Race sport cannot be developed very well.For example,its organization is simpler,its popularization is lower and its protection and inheritance are poorer.As for these problems,this paper proposes to strengthen the protection and introduction of Stilt Race,making the sport become one course of school physical education to stimulate people participate in it.Last but not least,this research will also improve the relative equipment and competition rules of this sport constantly and promote its popularization and the development of Stilt Race sport in Western Hunan.
