Research On The Inheritance And Development Of Tujia Traditional Sports Culture

This thesis selects several towns of Ba Dong (one county ofTujia and Miao minorities autonomous prefecture of western Hubei province) such asJing Guoping, Shui Buya and Ye Sanguan as typical examples. Through reviewing therelated documents and materials, investigating on spots, interviewing experts, andquestionnaires, it deeply explores its characteristics, cause of formation and socialbackground from national culture, sociology and and other angles. This thesis willprovide several policies to develop Tujia minority traditional cultures aiming toprovide some reference for related departments in planning the inherence of Tujiaminority traditional sports culture. And it also provides the theoretical base toexploring, reorganize and studying its connotation, trying to expanding space of theinherence and development of Tujia minority traditional cultures.This thesis reaches the following conclusions by studying the following fouraspects: the formation cause, the cultural characteristics, the current situation of cultureinherence, and the influence factors.1. The main formation cause and social background of the traditional sports culture ofTujia minority of western Hubei province are: unique production and lifestyle breedunique sports culture; unique folk custom enriches the connotation of the Tujia minoritysports culture; national religious complex forms the unique characteristics of sportsculture; Multi-cultural blend promotes the development of sports culture.2. Tujia traditional sports culture has rich content and diverse form. The competitiongames such as Di Gangzi, The Tall “Horse”, Fireworks, and Cotton ball, Customperformance such as Hand-waving dancing, Wan Shuashua, Jianzi, Playing top andfitness and entertainment activities all present the characteristics of combination ofnationality and geographical regions; Simplicity combined with diversity; Dancecombined with sports and remarkable cultural effectiveness.3. Originate from the influence of folk custom of Tujia minority, a part of traditionalsports such as Sa Yeerhe in the funeral, crying marriage ceremony, Qingjiang dancing inthe schooling sports, received better inheritance through documents, modern media aswell as personal experience of representative inheritors and other inheritance ways.Through investigation, I find that the sports culture inherence suffers manydifficulties such as financial shortage, the aging of the inheritor, inadequate attention ofrelated department, lacking of the basic theory and sports professionals, the challenge ofmodern sports culture and other factors. Associated with the reality difficulties, thispaper provide the following countermeasures:(1) strengthen the function of thegovernment at all levels.(2) increasing investment by building multiple channel financing system.(3) cultivate and protect the inheritors.(4)“sports-educationassociation”, introduce and teach the traditional sports of Tujia minority in the class.(5)seeking diversified development direction.(6) improving the sports circumstance andimprove people’s protection awareness.
