The new round of curriculum reform in China emphasizes the modernization and openness of teaching materials.The latest junior school Chinese textbooks compiled by the ministry of education aim at cultivating students' Chinese core accomplishment,and require the internalization of objective knowledge to the maximum extent into students' key ability and comprehensive quality,so as to ensure that students can have correct cultural value orientation.As a combination of spiritual wealth and material basis,regional culture represents the image of a region.In order to deepen the students' cultural idea and develop the regional culture,the junior school Chinese textbooks begin to integrate the regional culture.In this context,increasing attention is paid to the study of Chinese textbooks and regional cultures.By gathering and analyzing the relevant documents,this study exposes the connotations of regional culture and didactic material,uses the documentary method,textual analysis and statistical induction to identify the distribution of regional cultural elements in the Chinese textbooks,and conducts an in-depth study of the Chinese textbooks for lower secondary education from the perspective of regional culture.Around the logic of the language manual and culture,this article proposes three ideal criteria for judging regional culture in the Chinese textbooks,including the whether the human character of linguistic discipline is reduced,whether it contributes to transmitting the excellent regional culture and weather it helps the pupils to establish correct cultural values.Analysis the content and quantity of the texts,illustrations and training systems in the textbooks made it possible to identify six aspects of regional culture,including namely natural culture,the human spirit,local arts,culinary culture,dialectic culture and folk culture,and show how these six aspects are presented in the Chinese textbooks.This study made it possible to extract an idea of the organization of regional cultures in the Chinese textbooks.According to their specific state of distribution.Regional culture emphasizes the plurality of content elements,human function and step training;In form,it is necessary to respect the objectives set for linguistic subjects,the criteria for selecting texts for teaching materials and the laws of psychological development of students.To present regional culture better in the Chinese textbooks and to help students understand regional cultural connotations.This study attempts to present perspectives on the conception of regional culture.The first emphasizes the richness of regional cultural factors,the second on the liveliness of regional cultural content,the third on the hierarchy of regional cultural structures and the fourth on the systematic nature of regional cultural theories.
