Singapore has been called the "Singapore miracle" because of its rapid development in recent years,which prime minister lee hsien loong attributed to bilingual education.As we all know,Singapore is a bilingual country with a large number of Chinese people,and English is a foreign language.However,at the very beginning of its founding,Singapore established the status of English as the administrative language,which was determined by domestic and foreign troubles faced by Singapore at that time.Today,as China's rising international status and the development of economic strength,Chinese(mandarin)is more and more attention in the world,was founded in 2010,the ministry of education of mother tongue review committee,published by the report concerning He Pin further to curriculum standard revision of the guide,and in 2015 published "2015 primary school Chinese syllabus",in order to adapt to changes in the Singapore Chinese domestic environment.From the perspective of the theoretical and realistic logic of the existence of Chinese syllabus,the formulation basis is the basis of their existence.It accurately answers where and why Chinese syllabus come from,and prescribes the methods and purposes of Chinese syllabus.The knowledge and understanding of the establishment of the basis directly affects the scientificity and rationality of the Chinese syllabus,thus profoundly influencing the goals and results of Chinese education.Therefore,this research will not be limited to the syllabus themselves,but focus on the basis of syllabus to explore the functional positioning and value needs of Chinese language and Chinese courses in Singapore.This study is based on the new syllabus of Chinese for primary schools in Singapore.Firstly,this paper expounds and sorts out the current situation of mandarin in Singapore,and summarizes the declining trend of mandarin in Singapore from the three aspects of country,society and family.In order to make the paper better understood,the third chapter presents and summarizes the Chinese syllabus for primary schools in Singapore 2015 from the perspective of curriculum concept,overall curriculum objectives,curriculum structure,sub-objectives and implementation recommendations.The fourth chapter takes Taylor's model of target curriculum as the analytical framework,and makes a comprehensive use of literature method and factor analysis to conclude and summarize the basis for the formulation of the new Chinese syllabus from the three aspects of social demand,student experience,subject content and function.In chapter five,based on the conclusion of chapter four,the author makes a further analysis to summarize the value orientation of the revision of Chinese syllabus in Singapore in the new era,and then analyzes Singapore's attitude towards Chinese and its understanding of Chinese functions.Taking Singapore as an example,this paper analyzes the basis for the formulation of the new standard of Chinese language curriculum in Singapore,explains the attitude and views of the government and education department of Singapore towards Chinese language curriculum,and probes into the value orientation of Singapore towards language curriculum.It can be seen that in Singapore,survival is the first need for national development,and education is also subordinated to this need,with the practicality of language courses taking the first place.This point of view and practice can not be simply "desirable" or "undesirable" to judge,but the choice of the time,the country and the people.This study attempts to explain the dilemma of Chinese education in Singapore,to explain the relationship between language education and national survival,and to provide certain reference significance and enlightenment for Chinese language curriculum,education and national survival.
