One of the goals of Curriculum Reform of Elementary Education is to improve students' learning methods and it is the base of the comprehensive development of quality-oriented education.At present,there are still some problems in teaching,such as teachers only pay attention to the imparting of knowledge and the cultivation of basic skills,but they ignore the development of students' ability of practice,innovation and thinking.Especially in the process of biology teaching in senior high school,the traditional cramming teaching makes students face various problems,such as: heavy task,both physical and mental pressure and low learning efficiency.Therefore,it is urgent to propose an effective and acceptable method to improve students' learning efficiency.Mind Map is a graphic tool that can express divergent thinking and it is created by British scholar Tony Buzan in 1970.This tool has the advantages of simplicity,efficiency and practicability.In this study,research subjects are 115 students and they come from class(7)and class(8)of science general class of XX middle school in Gangu county.Mind map is applied to the teaching practice of "cell structure and function","cell metabolism" and "regulation of animal and plant life activities" in high school,so as to promote students' effective learning and improve students' learning efficiency.The research is mainly carried out from the following aspects: firstly,a questionnaire is designed to investigate the problems that students have in the current learning process and analyze the feasibility of using mind maps to solve the current problems.Then,the Mind Map is applied to the practice of teaching,and analyzes the effect according to the data of questionnaire survey,interview and observation.Finally,combining with the actual situation and theoretical knowledge,the application of Mind Map in teaching is further analyzed and discussed.The results of this thesis show that:(1)Appling Mind Map to the high school biology teaching can have a positive impact on students;(2)The application of Mind Map in biology teaching can help teachers integrate teaching content and improve their teaching level and efficiency;(3)There are still some problems in the application of Mind Map in special subject teaching.At the same time,the results indicate that there are some problems in using Mind Map,such as difficulty in drawing,difficulty in sorting out knowledge points,difficulty in extracting key words and waste of time.In general,this thesis has enriched the application of mind mapping in biology teaching.As a reliable teaching tool,Mind Map should be used and improved for a long time,and be widely promoted.
