With the enthusiasm of the PISA test,"Mathematics competence" has become the focus of mathematics education. The "anschauliche Phantasie" has an important guiding role in cultivating students' geometric learning habits and geometric thinking. At present, both China and Japan have incorporated "Mathematics competence" into a new round of curriculum reform, and teaching materials are carriers that can truly reflect the results and connotations of national education reform. Therefore, this study intends to compare the core competence of ‘anschauliche Phantasie' embodied in the graphics and geometry of Chinese and Japanese primary school mathematics textbooks, with a view to making suggestions for the core competence of anschauliche Phantasie in geometric learning at the primary level. To this end,the core question of the research is put forward: "What are the similarities and differences between the core qualities of‘anschauliche Phantasie'embodied in the‘graphics and geometry'part of the textbooks for elementary school mathematics in China and Japan?"Focusing on the core issues, this research first refers to Van Hiele's level of geometric thinking,Yu Ping 's mathematical core competence evaluation framework, and the SOLO to construct a comparative framework of anschauliche Phantasie core competence: including “intuitive”,“analysis”,and “imagination”.The horizontal division of perspectives;secondly, the knowledge points in the textbooks are analyzed horizontally;finally, the PEP(People's Education Press)edition,BNU(Beijing Normal University)editions, and Japanese Keirin kan edition textbooks are compared from the perspectives of "textbook setting content" and "course content" and conclude the following conclusions:Context settings: 1.Introduction: Japan Keirin Kan edition was well-distributed than the other two editions, while the other two were focusing more on the immediacy.2.Thinking part: the PEP edition has the highest requirements;BNU edition emphasizes more on the process of step by step. The Keirin Kan edition requires less.3.Samples part: the Japan Keirin Kan edition was well-balanced and more reasonable.4.Exercises part: the BNU edition was well arranged, followed by the PEP edition, while the Keirin Kan edition was monotonous.Course Content: 1.Understanding of graphics: the BNU edition was wellbalanced;PEP edition has a higher level while the Keirin Kan edition was lower than BNU edition.2.Measurement: the PEP edition has the highest requirements on the training of core competence;the BNU edition focuses more on the process of math exploring, while the Keirin Kan edition's level was lower than BNU edition.3.Movement of graphics: the BNU edition was well-balanced;the PEP edition requires more on solving math problems;the overall level of Keirin Kan edition was low.4.Graphics and position: BNU edition was well-arranged.Keirin Kan edition has shortcomings on analyzing and imagination level, while PEP edition lacks on analyzing prospective.
