As a carrier and medium,historical pictures are of far-reaching significance in history teaching.Compared with the traditional concept of "historical illustrations",historical pictures have broader denotations.On the basis of the pictures in the history textbooks of middle schools,they also include various pictures that can be used in history classroom teaching.Compared with general pictures,historical pictures pay more attention to create more possibilities for teaching from the perspective of history.However,as far as the current situation of education in China is concerned,the front-line history teachers' understanding of its importance is not very clear,and the application of historical pictures by teachers in the actual teaching process has not been perfected,which needs to be discussed.Therefore,based on the theory of dialectical materialism epistemology,cognitive learning theory and constructivist learning theory,this study expounds the basis of its application,and discusses how to use historical pictures in the process of teachers' teaching and students' learning,so as to develop students' core qualities,which is beneficial to their lifetime development.The content of this paper is mainly from five aspects.The first part is an overview of historical pictures in middle school history teaching.Firstly,this paper defines the concept of historical pictures again,and classifies the pictures in detail,from which the characteristics of historical pictures are summarized,and the theoretical basis for their application is expounded from the epistemology of dialectical materialism,cognitive learning theory and constructivism learning theory.The second part is the necessity and value of applying historical pictures in practical teaching.This paper mainly discusses the necessity of the application of historical pictures from three aspects: they are the important support for the creation of historical intuitionistic teaching,the insufficient development of traditional teaching historical pictures,and the important media for the cultivation of historical core accomplishment.The practical application value is demonstrated from the aspects of developing core accomplishment,enriching historical resources,stimulating learning interest,expanding historical thinking and cultivating moral and aesthetic education.The third part is to investigate the application of historical pictures by teachers and students,and to analyze the current situation of the investigation from the two aspects of teachers and students.The fourth part is the application strategy of historical pictures in history teaching in middle school.This paper mainly proposes strategies from both teachers and students,including how teachers and students choose and apply historical pictures.The fifth part is the application case of historical pictures in middle school classroom.Mainly from the history drawing,caricature,caricature,historical chart,historical map,archaeological object map,historical event drawing and other commonly used types as the case analysis,discusses the typical case in the teaching implementation,so as to provide the history class with the reference of extensive significance.
