The Problems And Solutions On The Teacher Pressure In Rural Elementary Schools

Entering a new era,the team construction of teachers has raised great concern to our country and the whole society.Because the study on the improvement of teachers can enrich the theories on this topic,upgrade the ability of teachers working in villages' primary schools,balance the quality of compulsory education in rural and urban areas,therefore promote the development of rural economy.In this study,We made a case study about a county on the north-west of Hunan province,with teachers from 12 primary schools of this county being studied on their numbers,education level,age,job title,subject and training through investigation and interview.This study suggests that many problems are found in teachers of rural areas such as teacher shortages,unbalanced structures and disappointing quality.This phenomenon may result from insufficient fund,limited teacher resources,poor training,unfair evaluation on teacher's promotion and achievements,unbalanced mobility of teachers between urban and rural areas,schools' negligence toward teachers' team construction,poor quality of principals,lack of democratic management,teachers' irresponsibility behaviors,teacher's low education level and teaching ability,unfamiliarity with informationized teaching,overwhelmed burdens of teachers,high pressure and bad physical and mental condition.To deal with these problems,strategies should be made by government,schools and teachers.The government should raise teacher's salary and subsidies to motivate teachers,improve teacher training systems and evaluation systems of achievements and promotion.Schools should adjust school-based training and strengthen democratic management.teachers should enhance professional identity,cultivate sense of responsibility,improve work efficiency,learn more and enrich the spiritual world.
