With the continuous curriculum reform,teachers not only teach knowledge,but also pay attention to the development and learning of students.Both what master and how acquire knowledge and skills are important.A large number of documents showed that one emphasizes how teachers organize teaching process,while few foused on students' learning methods.Theremore,there are many theoretical research on geographic learning methods,however,few on practical teaching.There are many researches on teaching strategies,few on learning methods and training strategies.Moreover,existing strategies tend to be macroscopic with less combination with current geography curriculum standards and learning contents.Taking geography learning methods of high school students as objects,the paper first extracted 10 learning methods based on Mr.Chu Shaotang's Geography Study Method,Mr.Xia Zhifang's Geography Study Theory and the curriculum standards and international charters of six countries including China,Britain,the United States,Germany,Australia,Singapore.Secondly,10 methods are divided into two categories according to the discipline characteristics: one highlighted geography discipline characteristics.The other was the basic methods of geographic learning such as information collection method,case analysis method,inquiry learning method,note-taking method,summary method,practice learning method and autonomous learning method.And the connotation of each method was analyzed.Third,based on the 23 teaching cases from literatures,the teaching objectives,teaching contents,and geographic learning methods used in each case were analyzed.The application of 10 geographic learning methods and method training strategies were solved.The results indicated that learning objectives deciding the learning method,the learning content determining the learning method,the student characteristics determining the learning method,and the learning form determining the learning method.Fourth,the implementation process and principles of geographic learning methods were introduced based on 22 practical teaching cases from No 1 Middle School in Hohhot,which included the learning content,learning objectives,learning methods,scope of application and method training strategies.The results indicated that training strategies should focus on students' interests motivating them to learn,pay attention to the cultivation of learning ability making them capable of learning,supply learning path and guide,and focus on learning efficiency encouraging students to study skillfully.Fifth,three training strategies suitable for geography learning methods in high school were proposed: motivating using learning methods,teaching students using methods,and creating opportunities to use learning methods.
