As a vital resource to us,water is of great value for games besides for drinking.Almost all children like to play with water as an inborn nature.They can learn about water and scientific knowledge related to water while playing with it,promoting their perception of water and developing their creativity and exploration ability.Meanwhile,they can build their body and improve immunity.Since pool plays such an important role in outdoor exercise,I'd like to analyze activities related to pools from the perspective of water's value so as to make pool activities of greater educational significance.In the paper,it first points out the contradiction between the importance of pool for children and the seldom implementation of pool activities.Then by investigation and interview,the status quo of pools and related activities in kindergartens in Ningbo are revealed with analysis of existing problems and reasons for these problems.At last,it discusses strategies to improve pool activities with instructions offered to teachers so as to truly realize the value of pool.The research results are shown in the following.1.The existing problems are as follows.First,few pool activities are carried out though teachers admit the importance of playing with water.And due to the low frequency of usage,there aren't enough facilities for implementing activities.2.The implementation of pool activities are mainly affected by the following factors.First,the location,materials and usage rules limit it usage.Second,activities may be affected by environment,seasons and climate.Third,teachers are lack of correct knowledge about pool activities.Fourth,infants are over protected during the activities.Fifth,sometimes the themes and contents are difficult to carry out.Sixth,teachers lack relevant experience of organizing and instructing these activities.Seventh,only little attention is extended to this field.After analyzing the problems from multiple dimensions,some suggestions are put forward according to different value orientations of water with environmental education theory,ecological theory and theory of personality development in early childhood.Guided by Outline,we try to combine pool activities with the five parts of kindergarten life to make pool activities more colorful.In this way,infants can be developed comprehensively in terms of health,language,society,science and art.
