As a new form of interdisciplinary integration,STEAM education is gaining increasing attention.Underground this backdrop,in 2016,the General Office of the State Council issued the “Implementation Plan for the Action Plan for the National Scientific Literacy(2016-2020)”.The document clearly states: complete the science and technology education in the basic education stage,enhance the innovation awareness、learning ability and practical ability of primary and middle school students,and increase the horizontal cooperation of mathematics,physics,chemistry,biology and other subjects in middle school.This shows that the direction of science education reform increasingly reflects the integration of disciplines.This study combines the junior middle school science curriculum objectives and STEAM education concepts,and proposes to develop and practice the eighth grade semester curriculum of junior middle school inquiry science based on the STEAM education concept.Based on the STEAM educational philosophy,the curriculum objectives of the school-based curriculum of the junior middle school investigation are divided into four aspects.include: cultivating scientific inquiry capabilities,enhancing scientific knowledge and skills,promoting the formation of correct scientific attitudes,emotions and values,and fully connecting with science,technology,engineering,art and mathematics.Through school-based courses to enrich student learning and meet the diverse developmen t needs of students.This study defines the main concepts of school-based courses,junior high school science courses,and STEAM education through literature analysis.It understands the commemorative relationship between school-based courses in the junior middle school investigation based on the STEAM education concept and grasp the general process of establish school-based courses.Then we investigate the current situation of science teaching in foreign language schools affiliated to Guangxi Normal University and raise research questions.Then take the students from 6 classes in the eighth grade of the Foreign Languages School affiliated to Guangxi Normal University as the research object,under the guidance of the STEAM education concept,carry out the school-based curriculum teaching practice for 6 students and analyze the teaching cases.Finally,evaluate the curriculum through interviews andquestionnaires based on the school-based curriculum objectives.The results of this study show that: 1.Students basically said they like taking inquiry science classes and the model of inquiry science classes;2.The junior middle school inquiry course based on STEAM education concept improves students' experimental inquiry ability to a certain extent;3.The school-based curriculum of the junior middle school investigation based on the STEAM education concept enables students to learn and apply knowledge of science,technology,engineering,art and mathematics.4.The school-based curriculum of inquiry science in junior high school based on STEAM education concept has helped students form a correct scientific attitude and emotional values.
