Investigation And Research On The Current Situation Of Mathematical Modeling Literacy Level Of Middle School Students

Mathematical modeling is the literacy of performing mathematical abstraction on real problems,expressing problems in mathematical language,and constructing models to solve problems with mathematical methods.In 2017,the Ministry of Education carried out revisions to the curriculum standards of ordinary high schools,and put forward to implement mathematical modeling literacy in mathematical teaching.There are two urgent problems to be solved at present: one is how to evaluate students' mathematical modeling of the literacy level,and the other is how to cultivate the students' mathematical modeling.To solve the above problems,this study based on the construction of existing education evaluation system,established a mathematical modeling literacy evaluation system from the three dimensions of comprehension,application,and innovation.It conducts empirical research on the middle school students.According to the data analysis,the mathematics modeling literacy of the middle school students was found to be low in understanding and innovation ability,and the application ability was moderate.The comprehensive level of mathematics modeling literacy of high school students is slightly higher than that of junior high school students,but their level of innovation ability is lower than that of junior high school students.This shows that the current education model limits the development of students' innovative ability and is not conducive to the cultivation of mathematical modeling literacy.Data analysis also shows that mathematics modeling literacy level is related to students' gender,mathematics achievements,and their preference for mathematical modeling.The following teaching strategies are proposed for the above situations: Teachers should pay attention to mathematical modeling literacy,stimulate students' interest in learning,cultivate students' independent thinking,discover the mathematical problems in life,use mathematical modeling to solve practical problems,and encourage students to use their imagination.The students' ability of personal development as the main purpose of the development to develop mathematical modeling special courses and teaching materials.
