In the 21st century,with the development of science and technology,health is no longer just a topic of concern for medical experts and sociologists.In the field of labor economics,health as an important factor of human capital is widely concerned.Individual's physical and mental health has been proved to have a great impact on the productivity of their labor force.Among them,education,as another human capital element like health,has become an important topic for economists to study the relationship between education and health.In addition,with the development of gender equality as a basic national policy and the improvement of women's education,more and more women enter the workplace.However,influenced by the unique historical and cultural background of our country,this part of women still face the background of family role when they deal with the work in the workplace.The transformation of the dual roles will cause the burden on women's body and mind,and the influence of education on women's physical and mental health is diverse and complex.Therefore,it is of special significance to study the influence of education on women's physical and mental health.This paper focuses on women's physical and mental health.Firstly,it systematically analyzes the mechanism of the influence of education level on women's physical and mental health.Then,using cfps2018 data,logit,ologit and instrumental variable method,this paper empirically explores the direction and mechanism of the impact of education level on women's physical and mental health.It is found that education can significantly improve the physical and mental health of Chinese women.The results showed that health consciousness and health behavior had significant positive effects on women's physical and mental health.But compared with the direct impact of behavior,the indirect impact of social and economic conditions improvement plays a more important role in explaining the positive impact of education on health.The main purpose of education is to expand the budget constraint set of women's health input and improve women's physical and mental health by realizing women's economic independence and increasing their income.In particular,the research results show that the role effect will make women with higher education level less satisfied with marriage and increase social pressure,so that the education level has a negative impact on women's mental health.
