In the late 1960 s,the training of primary and secondary school principals began to receive the attention of Australia,and now a relatively perfect training system has been formed.This paper aims to summarize the history of Australian primary and secondary school principals' training from a historical perspective by using the methods of literature analysis,historical research,comparison and factor analysis.It specifically elaborates on the implementation of principal training,analyzes its characteristics,and reflects on the problems existing in principal training in primary and secondary schools in China.The author hopes that the experience of Australia can be used for reference in the further training of primary and secondary school principals in China.Based on the historical development of the school principals' training in Australia,this paper divides it into three stages:(1)initial formation period;(2)development period;(3)improvement period.There are five chapters in this paper.The first chapter mainly discusses the background of the initial formation of the training of primary and secondary school principals in Australia and introduces the unique training mode of that period,and the training content of the initial principal training.The second chapter mainly discusses the background of the principals' training development period,introduces the principal training institutions and functions during the development period,the formulation of training forms and the setting of training courses.The third chapter mainly discusses the background and content of the training period of principals,the promotion by the first unified the National Professional Standards for Principals,and the novel development of primary and secondary school evaluation system.The fourth chapter makes a further summary of the experience and enlightenment of Australian principals' training.
