In 1942,Mr.Ye Sheng tao first proposed the idea of "reading the whole book",which opened the way of teaching the whole book reading.In 2011,the Chinese curriculum standard of compulsory education proposed that "fewer questions should be done,more books should be read,good books should be read,and the whole book should be read".In addition,more than 20 famous books at all times and in all countries are listed in the suggestions for extracurricular reading materials,which are the whole book,making it clear the necessity of reading the whole book.The Chinese curriculum standard of general high school(2017 Edition)has set up a section of learning task group in the secondary school of "course content",and "reading and discussion of the whole book" is the first group of learning tasks,"which aims to guide students to expand their reading horizons,construct the experience of reading the whole book,form their own reading methods,and improve their reading appreciation ability,To develop good reading habits,the task of "reading and discussion of the whole book" runs through the whole compulsory,selective compulsory and elective stages of senior high school.In the curriculum standard,it is required to read a novel within the specified range and an academic work within the specified range.Therefore,taking a novel or an academic work as an example to explore the "whole book reading and discussion" in senior high school has become an unavoidable learning task.However,the requirements of the new curriculum standard for the task group of "reading and discussion of the whole book" only stay in the strategic layout,there is no specific implementation strategy,no complete curriculum construction,and no specific teaching design for the whole book reading of a book.Therefore,the author chooses the novel "home" which is recommended by Bajin in the new curriculum standard as an example to explore the whole book reading teaching.The first chapter of this paper mainly expounds the concept of the whole book and the whole book reading as well as the formation and development of the whole book reading thought.This paper mainly discusses the necessity of reading the whole book from the current situation of middle school students' reading,the requirements of curriculum standards and the trend of college entrance examination reform,and expounds the theoretical basis of reading the whole book.In the second chapter,the whole book reading teaching design of Ba Jin's novel "home" is carried out,the reading bibliography selection of the whole book,the teaching objectives of the whole book reading teaching of "home" are elaborated in detail,and the detailed learning design is designed.In the third chapter,I mainly explore the implementation and evaluation of the whole book reading teaching of home.According to the book how to read a book,which was jointly written by American educationalists Adler and van Doren,reading can be divided into four levels: basic reading,inspection reading,analysis reading and theme reading.In the last chapter,I mainly explore the teaching value and reflection of reading the whole book of home.Reading the whole book can promote the improvement of students' cultural background,reading ability,emotional thinking and reading effect,and reflect on the problems in the current reading teaching of the whole book.
