Novel is an important literary genre.It has rich cultural connotation,ideological and artistic value,and has been loved by readers for a long time."People" is one of the three elements of the novel,and bears the role of expressing the author's emotions.How to obtain a vivid,full and profound character image through reading,and then better understand the deep meaning of the novel,is an important problem that has always puzzled readers in novel reading,and is also an important content of middle school novel reading teaching.The high school Chinese compulsory textbook for human education edition contains 6 novel works,including a variety of character images.This article studies the character image teaching in high school Chinese novels,and explores what the character images in the novel should "teach" in middle school Chinese teaching.And "how to teach" and other issues,trying to provide a certain reference for the character image teaching of high school Chinese novels.This article is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is the analysis of text selection and reading aid system.It can be found that the textbook has diversified and profound in the choice of the text of the novel and the character settings.It tries to show the students the life in different social styles through six texts.The design of the reading aid system shows the pertinence and cohesion of the unit goals of the textbook,but the design of the teaching goals of a single text has the problem of lack of pertinence.The second chapter analyzes the performance characteristics of the characters in different novels.Ancient Chinese novels describe characters from the outside,and modern novels have begun to focus on the inner analysis of characters.Character creation in foreign novels is dominated by character.The characters in different novels also have different characteristics.The characters in the novels are full and changeable.The novels pay more attention to the main character characteristics of the characters.The characters in the short stories have the characteristics of symbolization and fragmentation.The third chapter is the study of class examples,and discusses the current situation of teaching characters in high school Chinese novels with three novels,"Lin Daiyu's Entry into Jiafu","Blessing",and "Border City".Through the analysis of the collected cases,it is found that the current methods of teaching characters in high school Chinese novels are diverse and can achieve good teaching results.But there is also the problem of routine in the choice of teaching content.The fourth chapter puts forward some suggestions on the teaching content and teaching strategies of novel character image appreciation teaching.In terms of teaching content,the teaching of character images should include three aspects: the figurativeness,typicality,and personality of the characters,the artistic methods of portraying characters,and the literary theoretical knowledge related to characters.Suggestions on specific teaching strategies include: using reading aloud and illustrations,combining situations and texts;using questioning skillfully,giving play to students' initiative,returning to the original work—recovering the full picture of the characters.
