The special function of the image and the importance of geography teaching have been universally recognized by front-line teachers and geography. However, in the actual teaching, due to various subjective and objective factors, making the geographical image teaching is still very low. Which is an urgent problem, but also the ultimate goal of this study. So this article mainly includes the following aspects:First of all, through the study of domestic and foreign literature, the specific combination of high school geography teaching content will be classified, including maps, geographical landscape, geographical map, geographical map, geographical cartoon and remote sensing satellite images, and further subdivision. Secondly, all kinds of geographical images are described to understand their special functions. And focus on the teaching of geography textbooks and Jiangsu college entrance examination geography research, found that a variety of geographical images throughout the textbooks and papers always. Then the author according to the internship experience and the students of the questionnaire survey and the teacher's interview, found that the reasons for the low efficiency of geography teaching where.In general, the ability of students to map is relatively low, teachers, geography teaching methods are relatively simple, and students and teachers of the common problem is the lack of self-awareness. Then, according to the shortcomings of image teaching, the paper puts forward the principles and strategies to improve the teaching efficiency of high school geography. In this paper, we focus on improving the image teaching strategy. This paper mainly studies from the aspects of the establishment of image teaching goal, the creation of image teaching content, the improvement of image teaching method, the advancement of image teaching process and the evaluation of image teaching. Promote the teaching efficiency of geographic images.Finally, according to the proposed strategies and principles, respectively. from the perspective of humanities and nature of the design of image teaching case. Of course,I believe that the so-called efficiency is not easy to achieve, it must go through a process, but in this process requires teachers and students to work together, choose its good and from.
