In order to adapt to the excellent orientation of international teacher education reform,China introduced the excellent teacher training program for primary and secondary schools in2014,and each normal college began to implement excellent teacher training in primary and secondary schools.Colleges and universities have achieved certain effectiveness in the process of program exploration and implementation,and there are also some problems that need to be improved urgently.The pre-service teacher education in the United States started early and has rich experience.The excellent pre-service teacher training program designed and implemented has cultivated a large number of quasi-excellent teachers for the states,which has alleviated the shortage of teachers in the United States and the low quality of teachers to a certain extent.It has provided useful reference and enlightenment for further improving the implementation of excellent teacher training program in China.Based on the analysis of the background and current situation of excellent teacher preparation program in the United States,the paper selects three universities from the University of Houston,Valdosta State University and Northwest Missouri State University as typical cases.Through the detailed introduction of the excellent teacher preparation program of the three schools in terms of the training objectives,entry requirements,curriculum and teaching practices,it concluded that the excellent teacher preparation program in the United States has flexible and diverse enrollment methods,the training objectives are clearly pointed,the curriculum focuses on the interaction and integration of theory and practice,the teaching practice emphasizes the cooperation between teacher candidates,university tutors and internship instructors,and the program is continuously evaluated by the government and social professional organizations.This has enabled the excellent teacher preparation program in the United States to not only cultivate a large number of excellent teacher candidates,but also improve the academic performance of the students they teach.At the same time,the rich teaching practice has enabled the teacher candidates to accumulate practical experience,it effectively promote the professional development of in-service teachers participating in practical guidance in primary and secondary schools.From the overall implementation of the excellent teacher preparation program in the United States,the evaluation of programs conducted by the government or social professional organizations is organized by the university itself to report and collect the data required by evaluation.The evaluation entity does not participate in the preliminary data collection of the program,which is not conducive to the overall development of the program.In addition,the program has a realistic gap between design and implementation of diversified personnel training."The stone of other mountains can be used to attack jade".Drawing on the successful experience of the excellent teacher preparation program in the United States,it can provide effective enlightenment for the implementation of the excellent teacher training program in China.In the process ofpre-employment training for "pre-excellent" teachers,we should pay attention to the penetration of excellence concepts,and gradually improve the training objectives of the program;deepen the optimization of curriculum structure,and realize the organic integration of theoretical courses and practical courses;further clarify the responsibility of the main body of teaching practice,and strengthen the collaborative training among alliance schools;actively play a leading role of the government,and establish an evaluation mechanism for multi-participation.
