The United States currently undergoing a major reform of the education system is"The evaluation of teachers' entry based-on teaching practice"(edTPA).The new teacher performance assessment system,which is developed by the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education(AACTE)and the Stanford University,mainly focuses on the teaching practice of teacher candidates.In the context of the generally low quality of basic education in the United States,it is expected to improve the quality of teacher candidates by examining the actual teaching practice,so as to improve their academic performance.The paper does the research of "The evaluation of teachers' entry based-on teaching practice" comprehensively and systematically,including its background and progress,the content framework,specific implementation and implications.Firstly,on the background of the research,analyses the history of teacher education of United States and the emergence development of "The evaluation of teachers' entry based-on teaching practice".Secondly,it expounds the nature,objectives and three tasks of the assessment system,and analyzes its evaluation criteria and features.Meanwhile,study the scoring mechanism and data in the implementation process.Finally,the paper analyses "The evaluation of teachers' entry based-on teaching practice" fully in its advantages,disadvantages and impact.
