The 19 th national congress of the communist party of China clearly put forward the fundamental task of "cultivating people with morality" and developing qualityoriented education.In order to implement the fundamental task,the new curriculum reform is imperative.High school geography is no exception.Based on the new curriculum concept,this paper further explores the educational value of geography from the perspective of geography,thus further condenses the core quality of geography and raises the essential character and core competence of geography subject.Therefore,it is particularly important to find an effective teaching method to cultivate the way of thinking.So the application research of mind map is also imperative.Mind map uses the method of paying equal attention to pictures and texts to show the subordination of subjects at different levels in different levels.It is a tool for divergent thinking expression,a tool for knowledge visualization,and a graphic tool for knowledge organization and expression.In this study,firstly,the literature research method is adopted to review the research status of mind mapping at home and abroad,define concepts such as "mind mapping" and "concept map",and analyze the theoretical basis of educational psychological knowledge such as constructivism theory,information processing theory,graphic theory and multiple intelligence theory.Secondly,the interview and questionnaire methods were used to investigate the current situation and existing problems of the application of mind mapping in physical geography teaching.Finally,through the design of teaching cases,the application of principles and strategies into action.Through the above research,the research conclusions are as follows :(1)the combination of mind mapping and physical geography teaching is feasible.The feasibility analysis is embodied in the following aspects: the objectives and concepts of geography course determine the applicability of mind map in physical geography teaching;The characteristics of physical geography illustrate the applicability of mind map in physical geography teaching.The application of physical geography image illustrates the applicability of mind map in physical geography teaching.(2)it is concluded from interviews with teachers and students and questionnaires that the level of understanding of mind maps in the application of mind maps in natural geography teaching is generally not high;Teachers and students are not active in the application of mind map.The application of mind map is more formalistic and lacks depth and breadth.Dependence on teachers and lack of initiative in drawing mind maps.(3)the principles of applying mind map to teaching are scientific,applicable,enlightening and open.(4)it is proposed that the application strategy of mind mapping has the understanding of mind mapping,and mastering the drawing requirements is the premise;Study the textbook deeply,clear the logical relationship is the foundation;It is the key to choose the right content to design the teaching link.Focusing on the development of students,focusing on the cultivation of ability is the focus of strengthening the guidance of teachers,and promoting the communication between teachers and students is the guarantee of five Suggestions.(5)according to the application principles and strategies of mind mapping,design teaching cases and express them in the form of mind mapping.Finally,through the study of this paper,it is expected to provide some theory and case reference for the application of mind map to the teaching of physical geography for the majority of senior high school geography teachers,so as to provide some ideas for teachers to better teach.At the same time,it also provides method guidance for students to study physical geography and the knowledge system.
