At present,there are millions of rural teachers,who are standing in the vast rural areas of our country in China.This group has a large scale,and also undertakes great responsibility and lofty mission.Now the country and people pay more attention to the cultivation and construction of highquality rural teachers.With the efforts of many parties,the professional development level of rural teachers in China has been effectively improved.However,due to the complexity of the limitations and disadvantages of rural education environment,resources and other aspects,the professional development of rural teachers in China also needs more powerful support.For a long time,as an important source of rural teachers and the main position of teacher training,the colleges and universities should bravely assume the responsibility of providing support and assistance for the professional development of rural teachers.This study takes the university support of rural teachers' professional development as the research object,take Hunan Province as a case,and using the methods of literature and interview rural teachers,to examines the new connotation of rural teachers and their professional development in China under the background of the new era,and also clarifies what kinds of support colleges and universities should provide for teachers' professional development based on the analysis of theories and policies.The survey found that: At present,there are some obvious problems in the support behavior of colleges and universities,such as the difficulty of popularization,the content divorced from the reality of the countryside,the fragmentation of the support behavior and the lack of follow-up evaluation mechanism.On the whole,there are some problems in the support of rural teachers' professional development form Colleges and universities.In view of these problems,the author puts forward the strategies from these aspects: "professional training","professional guidance according to the actual needs" and "information technology services and tutorials.".
