Abstract/Summary:
There are many problems in traditional geography classroom teaching at junior middle school,such as the fragmentation of knowledge,the repetition of core knowledge and methods in textbooks,and the disconnection between learning and life practice.Under the background of the new college entrance examination model and with the implementation of the new Curriculum Standard for senior high schools,it is necessary to improve the professional level of teachers and change the teaching model in geography classroom to enrich the talent evaluation standard,promote the all-round development of students,cultivate innovative talents,promote the new curriculum reform and implement the people-oriented scientific development concept.The Unit Teaching Design based on the Curriculum Standard provides an insight for the breakthrough of how to implement the cultivation of the core qualities of geography discipline in geography teaching at junior middle school.To promote the implementation of the core literacy of the subject,The Unit Teaching Design starts from the course standard,integrates the content of the teaching materials,presents the subject content in a variety of ways such as unit,task chain and module,closes the logical relationship between the knowledge,and inspires students through the form of contextualized activities.This study used questionnaires and interviews to investigate the current status of The Unit Teaching Design based on Curriculum Standards in geography class at Zhengzhou Middle School.The study drew the following conclusions.(1)The traditional teaching design of class hour in geography class at junior middle school will lead to the fragmentary knowledge points in the class,which makes it difficult for students to accurately grasp the structure and logic relationship between the learning contents,and is not conducive to the overall construction of students' knowledge system and the cultivation of the core quality of the subject.(2)A few of the geography teachers at the junior middle school understand and implement The Unit Teaching Design and the time to implement the unit teaching is relatively short;most of the students who have received the unit teaching method indicate that they have understood and are more interested in the implementation of the unit teaching,and are generally recognized for the continued implementation of the unit teaching in the geography classroom.(3)The unit teaching in geography class at junior high school has obvious effect on improving students' ability of reading and analyzing maps,extracting geographic information,using the knowledge they have learned to explain the common geographical phenomena in life and implementing the core quality of the subject.However,considering the social context and teachers' own professional level,there are still some problems when teachers integrate teaching materials,activities and evaluation task design,collect teaching resources,etc.(4)In the design of geography unit teaching in junior high school based on Curriculum Standards,we should start from Curriculum Standards,follow the principles of consistency of teaching evaluation,and systematization.On the basis of studying Curriculum Standards,integrating teaching materials and analyzing learning situation,we should determine the subject of unit learning and formulate the goal of unit learning.To design the unit teaching,we should design the core task,create the real situation and formulate teaching evaluation and constantly improve and optimize unit teaching through summary and reflection.(5)The practice of The Unit Teaching Design in geography class at junior high school has significant effects on the implementation of Curriculum Standards,the improvement of the quality of geography teaching,the construction of efficient geography class,the implementation of the core quality of disciplines,the promotion of students' all-round development and the improvement of teachers' professional quality.
