STEM education is a kind of interdisciplinary education mode focusing on problem solving and exploration and discovery.In order to cultivate the core quality of high school students' mathematics subject,researchers are committed to finding a STEM teaching mode based on high school mathematics experiment.Through design research and two rounds of teaching practice,this paper discusses the following two questions:(1)what is the current situation of STEM teachers' teaching design in senior high school from the perspective of TPACK theory and activity theory?(2)What is the STEM teaching mode based on high school mathematics experiment?In this paper,the research work is carried out from the following aspects:Firstly,based on TPACK theory and activity theory,this paper analyzes the case of STEM teachers in a provincial key middle school,using TPACK core element model,NVivo qualitative data analysis software to code the teacher's teaching design and classroom record,and using activity theory framework to analyze classroom teaching and learning activities.Secondly,based on the analysis of the current situation and theoretical discussion,the initial model of STEM teaching mode based on high school mathematics experiment is proposed.The initial model is revised according to the results of practical tests.Using the opportunity of internship in a provincial key middle school,the researcher put the initial model of teaching mode into practice and designed two rounds of teaching-students with different themes.According to the results of experiment report,classroom observation and practice,the teaching mode is modified.The final STEM teaching model based on high school mathematics experiment includes five teaching links: situation introduction;scientific exploration(including three sub links of collaborative exploration,problem identification and technical support);mathematics experiment(including three sub links of design analysis,scheme formulation and technical support);engineering practice(including two sub links of Engineering design and test improvement);summary and evaluation(including two sub links of sharing and communication,summary and promotion).These five links are a circular process.Through the experiment report,classroom observation and analysis of students,it shows that STEM teaching mode based on high school mathematics experiment is helpful to cultivate students' core qualities of mathematics subjects such as mathematical abstraction,logical reasoning,mathematical operation,data analysis,and to a certain extent,improves students' interest in mathematics learning. |
