A Chinese idiom goes like this,“One's entire life journey is significantly shaped by his or hers childhood learning”.Children are the hope of our society and the future of our nation.Hence,sloppy or slack attitude can never be tolerated when it comes to children's education and care.Kindergarten teachers are therefore a sacred and honorable occupation,as they shoulder the responsibility of imparting rudimentary knowledge and promoting children's all-round development,and they should be respected and admired by the public.At the same time,due to the special nature of kindergarten preschool education,kindergarten teachers are often under chronic working pressure.Without timely personal and psychological adjustment or external material or psychological support,these kindergarten teachers would tend to feel exhausted mentally,and this would lower their career expectation and work confidence,causing a sense of occupational burnout.This study selects 342 kindergarten teachers from 20 kindergartens of different institutional structures in Harbin,Heilongjiang Province as research subjects.Through conducting questionnaires and interviews,it studies the interpersonal relationship,self-efficacy,and level of occupational burnout of kindergarten teachers.It then discusses the inter-relations among these three items from a sociological and psychological perspective,and it constructs a relevant theoretical model around it.This study shows that,there is significant correlation between kindergarten teachers' interpersonal relationship,self-efficacy and occupational burnout level.Specifically,the correlation index between their self-efficacy and interpersonal relationship is 0.628;the correlation index between their interpersonal relationship and occupational burnout level is-0.409;the correlation index between their self-efficacy and occupational burnout is-3.42.Using the multiple stepwise regression approach,the following non-standard equation is obtained: self-efficacy = 1.730 + 0.336 x emotional need + support and cooperation from work;interpersonal relationship = 1.339 + 0.417 x career development+ 0.264 x teaching strategy and life management;occupational burnout level = 4.698+(-.0295)x emotional need +(-.310)x support and cooperation from work;occupational burnout = 4.016 +(-0.474)x career development.In addition,this study uses Bootstrap mediation test to show that kindergarten teachers' interpersonal relationship plays an entirely mediating effect on influencing their self-efficacy and occupational burnout;their self-efficacy has an indirect effect of-0.438 on their level of occupational burnout.Based on the discussed result,this paper has put forward policy suggestions for kindergartens,the society and the government,kindergarten teachers as well as regarding financial investments of kindergartens;relevant departments and scholars can therefore use this paper as a reference.
