Innovation ability is a necessary ability for learners in the 21 st century,and maker education aims at cultivating learners' innovation ability.At present,primary and secondary schools and universities all over the world have started to carry out relevant practices of maker education,and maker education has become a new orientation for future education.COOC(Collaborative Open Online Course)platform,as a new thing,has the advantages of openness,multi-person collaboration and fast update,and has been applied to education research.Through the analysis of existing literature,it can be seen that most of the researches in maker education are practical and grafting,but the theoretical construction is insufficient.The theoretical system of maker education involves the theoretical basis of maker education,maker space learning environment construction,maker education model construction,resource construction and use mechanism,etc.Therefore,this study tries to build a maker education model based on COOC platform,to provide guidance for the maker education practice and enrich the theoretical results of maker education.This research mainly adopts action research,the concrete research content is as follows:(1)Model building: this paper analyzed the characteristics of COOC platform,through carding and the typical cases of maker education both at home and abroad,summarizes the education model of structural elements,including the goal,the training process as well as the realization conditions.Under the guidance of innovation education,project learning,"learning by doing" and constructivism theory,a maker education model based on COOC platform was established.(2)Application of the model: a total of 27 graduate students and undergraduates majoring in educational technology in LanZhou University were selected as research objects.Under the guidance of the model,two rounds of maker practices were carried out,and the model was further improved according to the deficiencies exposed in the practice.(3)Evaluation of model application effect: by combining qualitative evaluation with quantitative evaluation,this paper analyzes the innovation ability of learners from four aspects: maker's works,innovative consciousness,innovative thinking and innovative skills.The results show that the model has a positive impact on learners' creative works,innovative consciousness,innovative thinking and innovative skills,which indicates that maker education model based on COOC platform can stimulate and cultivate learners' innovative ability.
