Article 3 of the General Senior High School Chemistry Curriculum Standards(2017edition)issued by the Ministry of Education in implementing curriculum recommendations at local and school levels explicitly requires "strengthening the construction of chemical laboratories and special classrooms for chemistry subjects""Fully understand the significance and role of the construction of chemistry laboratories and special classrooms for chemistry subjects,and create good conditions for students to choose different chemistry courses,teachers to carry out hierarchical teaching,and strengthen the practicality and inquiry of chemistry teaching.” However,in the school development plan,due to insufficient funds and the lack of emphasis on experimental teaching,the current status of the construction and management of middle school chemistry laboratories is not optimistic.On the basis of consulting the literature,the author conducted a survey on the status of the construction and management of chemical laboratories in five middle schools in Yan' an through field investigations,questionnaires,and interviews.The survey results show that the laboratory facilities and environment,fixed facilities and layout,and the compliance rate of the laboratories in terms of hardware facilities are relatively good.The front-line chemistry teachers in software facilities construction have strong experimental teaching abilities and positive experimental teaching views.However,there are also deficiencies in some aspects:(1)The investment in laboratory construction is small,the number is seriously insufficient,and the phenomenon of "multiple use in one room" is serious.(2)The construction of laboratory hardware facilities has not fully met the construction requirements.(3)First-line teachers have insufficient ability to exploreexperimental schemes.(4)The opening degree of the laboratory is insufficient,and the student group experiment rate is low.Problems in management mainly include:(1)Insufficient laboratory system construction,and the implementation situation is not optimistic.(2)The laboratory staffing is unreasonable and the team needs to be strengthened.(3)Laboratory safety management is backward.(4)Relying on traditional management methods,no information management methods are introduced.Several solutions are proposed to solve the problems in the status quo:(1)Strengthen the construction of laboratories.It mainly includes increasing capital investment,building new laboratories,and increasing the rate of opening experiments.(2)Improve the laboratory management system.(3)Attach importance to the construction of laboratory staff.Mainly include strict selection of professionals,increase the number of experimenters,and enhance the treatment of experimenters.(4)Change concepts and pay attention to laboratory safety education.(5)Use information construction to manage the laboratory.It mainly includes the combination of network technology,design of information management platform,and introduction of virtual simulation chemistry laboratory.(6)The education department may formulate new standards for laboratory construction.
