Research And Practice Of Common Problems In University Laboratory Construction And Management

The laboratory of a university is an important place for teaching, scientific research, disciplinary construction and social service. Although the management and construction level of the university laboratory in China has been greatly improved in recent years, problems and shortcomings still exist. Construction and management of the laboratory is greatly significant to a modern university.Based on the case of the laboratory construction and management in HeFei University of Technology and author’s working experience in this field for many years, this paper, firstly, generalizes the main work in the laboratory construction and management, and explores the relationship among the different parts. Secondly, the utilization and sharing of the large-scale instrument and equipment is studied, followed by the discussion of the current status and the gap between China and West Countries, so that the cause can be found, and constructive ideas and detailed measures can be given. After that, the construction and practices of sharing platform for large-scale instruments at both the college level and the level of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering are summarized. Then, the paper also researches the policy-making mechanism in development of working team of laboratory technicians in colleges and universities. Furthermore, the paper discusses the present situation of the experimental technical team, analyzes the problems and reasons for that, puts forward the way to construct the technical team in the laboratory and the specific measures to overcome the difficulties, and summarizes development status of laboratory technical team in our school. Thirdly, based on the research of the laboratory safety and environmental policy mechanism in the college, the paper analyzes the present situation of technological safety in the laboratory, the gap between China and Western developed Countries, the causes for the backward and the difficulties existing in the safety management, and presents various ways to establish a laboratory safety manage system. Fourthly, this paper probes the role of laboratory security education in safety management of to set up the basic requirements for the safety study and examination system. Fourthly, the paper deliberates the application of information technology in the laboratory management, and introduces the practice of laboratory information system in the experiment teaching management in the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering. Finally, based on the Research of the laboratory management system construction, the equipment procurement mechanism and means, and the equipment management and maintenance, the paper discusses the current situation of the laboratory work, the existing problems and the causes, and puts forward ideas and specific solutions.
