Primary school science curriculum is a course that combines basic,practical and comprehensive characteristics.And it is one of the important ways to cultivate students'scientific literacy.However,there are still some problems in the actual teaching of science courses.For example,the curriculum form and teaching methods are relatively single.And it is difficult to present and explain some abstract knowledge.Also,teaching resources are scarce,etc.Virtual reality is immersive,interactive,and imaginative.Combining it with primary school science curriculum in order to design targeted curriculum content and teaching models will solve these problems effectively and bring changes to primary school science classroom teaching.The article takes the desktop VR device zSpace as an example for research and practice.It is mainly divided into the following parts.First of all,a literature analysis was conducted on the current application of virtual reality in education and the research status of primary school science.Some front-line science teachers in primary schools and teachers who used zSpace were surveyed.After this,the feasibility of applying zSpace to science teaching in primary schools was analyzed.Then relevant teaching contents were selected for curriculum design,which led to two rounds of teaching practice based on zSpace,and the course content and teaching design were continuously improved during the research process.In order to compare whether zSpace-based classroom teaching had achieved better results,a round of conventional method lectures were conducted after the two rounds of teaching practice.Finally,based on the collected after-class test questions,survey questionnaires and interview contents,the teaching effects obtained were analyzed.Through the analysis of the data,the following conclusions were obtained.Firstly,the enthusiasm of teachers and students showed a high willingness to use new technologies.Secondly,the process of two rounds of teaching practice based on zSpace went smoothly,and the improvement measures in the process made better students' learning effects.Thirdly,when zSpace is combined with primary school science courses,the curriculum design should be more targeted,and the practical application should be more interactive.Fourth,the overall teaching effects of zSpace in primary school science classroom was good.The application of virtual reality technology had achieved good practical results,which had also brought a lot of inspiration to primary school science teaching.Finally,the deficiencies in the research were reflected,and the future application of new technologies represented by virtual reality technology in the field of education was prospected.
