The application of close reading in high school novel teaching is an effective attempt to add literary criticism to Chinese teaching and update the teaching method of novels.However,due to lack of theories,outmoded backgrounds,and test-oriented examination,there appears a lot of misuse of close reading in classroom teaching.In fact,close reading in high school Chinese teaching is not the same as reading slowly or analyzing excessively,the close reading of the novel has the particularity of the novel's style.This application will help students taste the charm of language,discover the connotation of texts,review the literary classics,and establish stylistic consciousness.On the basis of "adhering to the principles of novel teaching and close reading",this paper proposes specific strategies from the macro and micro levels.At the macro level,this paper discusses from the aspects of "establishing novel consciousness of classification","discovering the typicality of novels",and "establishing a literary close reading theory exclusively for novel teaching",and tries to master the method of combining close reading with novel teaching;At the micro level,this paper proposes strategies about"language of novels","reading techniques" and "secondary characters" as to make the teaching procedures of close reading more scientific and reasonable and truly realize the value of high school novel teaching in improving students' core literacy.
