| "Improve biological science literacy" is one of the curriculum concepts of "Biology Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)".Due to the differences in teaching practice,there are obvious differences in the students' biological science literacy in different regions and schools.From the perspective of the achievement of teaching objectives,the achievement of knowledge objectives is often better than the other two objectives.In order to improve students' biological science literacy effectively from multiple levels and perspectives,the determination of teaching content and the selection of teaching methods are very important.According to the requirements of "Biology Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)",this research designed and implemented designing and making comprehensive practice activities that students were very interested in,and studied the effects of these comprehensive practical activities on the cultivation of students' biological science literacy.The author's research ideas were as follows:(1)based on collecting and integrating a large number of relevant documents and materials,this research expounded the research status and related theoretical basis of comprehensive practical activities and biological science literacy,and defined the concept and connotation of designing and making comprehensive practical activities and biological science literacy;(2)according to the guiding outline of the courses of comprehensive practical activities in primary and secondary schools,selected the appropriate contents of activities to design the plans of comprehensive practical activities and implement the activities;(3)in order to evaluate students' biological science literacy,compiled paper-and-pencil test papers(dimensions of knowledge and abilities),five-level scale(dimensions of emotions,attitudes and values)and supplementary evaluation form for abilities dimension(self-evaluation of students,students evaluation of each other and teachers'evaluation of students);(4)through implementing designing and making comprehensive practical activities,analyzed the effects of participating in this kind of activities on students'biological science literacy.Based on the analysis of the research results,participating in designing and making comprehensive practical activities could improve biological science literacy of junior middle school students.Our research results showed that:(1)seen from the knowledge dimension,students' ability to apply biological knowledge increased by 36%after participating in the designing and making comprehensive practical activities,which indicated that the biological knowledge what they learned could be applied to solve problems better in daily life;(2)seen from the abilities dimension,students' ability to analyze and interpret phenomena was improved by 25%,the ability of scientific inquiry was improved by 20%.It was closely related to students' active participation in inquiry activities;(3)although there was no obvious improvement effects in emotions,attitudes and values dimensions,through the comparative analysis of changes in students' choice of "uncertain" option,it was found that students' views on life attitude,scientific attitude,bioscience values and concept of harmonious development became more clear,and they were able to form their own judgments on some phenomena;(4)participating in designing and making comprehensive practical activities improved students'interests and enthusiasm in learning biology course,which was also the fundamental reason for the further improvement of students' academic performance and biological science literacy.The conclusion of this research could provide reference for the cultivation of junior high school students' biological science literacy. |
