Since the rise of cooperative learning in the United States in the 1970s,it has attracted widespread attention from countries around the world and is one of the mainstream teaching theories and strategies in the contemporary era.The curriculum concept of the junior middle school geography curriculum standard is put forward:transforming the geography learning method and constructing an open geography classroom,indicating that the introduction of cooperative learning strategies in the junior middle school geography class meets the requirements of the junior middle school geography curriculum concept.The author taught at Xiamen Caitang School,which is a model school for curriculum reform.The school has long insisted on the use of cooperative learning teaching strategies,which provides a practical basis for the author's research.On the basis of understanding the research results of cooperative learning at home and abroad,this study has refined the concepts of cooperative learning,geographic cooperative learning,and learning efficiency,and defined the concepts of geography-learning efficiency,indicating the basic direction for subsequent research and building.It is based on Constructivism,Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs,Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development,Learning Community Theory,Geography Theory of Curriculum and Instruction.Based on years of experience of geography teaching in junior middle school and adherence to cooperative learning in geography class,the author has summarized the content of junior middle school geography suitable for cooperative learning in geography class based on the principles of geography,fundamentality,holistic orientation,complementation,and pursuit of the times.The content of cooperative learning is divided into five major categories:memory of geographical basic knowledge,description of characteristics of regional geographical elements,comprehensive analysis of the relationship between geographical elements,practical exploration,and comparative debate.In order to further analyze the cooperative learning efficiency in geography class in junior middle school,the author subdivides the three major projects of geography-learning efficiency:students' self-efficacy in learning,geography learning effect and geography-learning ability into 20 observation points based on teaching practice and expert advice.Developed the "Observation table of cooperative learning efficiency in geography class "as an auxiliary tool for the observation of cooperative learning efficiency in geography class,and conducted observations on the five types of cooperative learning in geography class to summarize the cooperative learning efficiency in junior middle school geography class:(1)Cooperative learning in the geography class can effectively improve students'self-efficacy in learning.Students can actively speak and boldly express their views in group cooperative learning,and actively raise their hands to participate in the display and communication under the role of mutual assistance in the group.During the communication,they listen carefully to the opinions of their peers and continuously improve and develop their views.(2)Students' basic knowledge and basic skills of geography are consolidated and strengthened in cooperative learning.It can be seen from the analysis of students'geography achievements that cooperative learning can generally improve students'geography learning achievements,especially improve the ability to answer the geography test questions of "understanding".(3)Cooperative learning has the greatest effect on improving.students' learning ability of geographical knowledge,and have a certain role in promoting students'geographic skills,geographic emotions,attitudes,and values.However,due to insufficient theoretical learning of geography teachers,fewer practical exploration activities,and evaluation is not comprehensive enough,and the improvement of students' geography-learning ability is not obvious.On the basis of analyzing the cooperative learning efficiency in geography class through observation,the author interviews the geography teachers of our school,reflects the cooperative learning efficiency in geography class from the perspective of teachers,summarizes the current major problems of cooperative learning in geography class and proposes optimization measures:(1)The geography teacher's inadequate learning of the cooperative learning theory and the concept of geography learning efficiency has led to unreasonable cooperative learning objectives and content design,which cannot be effectively guided in the class teaching,restricting the improvement of students'geography-learning efficiency.Therefore,strengthening the theoretical learning of geography teachers is an important measure to improve students' geography-learning efficiency.(2)Cooperative learning of practice and inquiry is not carried out enough,and the effect of improving students' geographic skills is not obvious enough.Geography teachers should set more exploration and practice tasks for students before and after class to enhance students' operation skills of geography,further enhance students'self-efficacy in learning,and stimulate students' interest and innovation in geography learning.(3)Some geography teachers have inadequate experience in organizing cooperative learning in geography class,or they do not fully understand the class situation during the succession,which has a negative impact on students'geography-learning efficiency if they use the cooperative learning model in geography class.Therefore,geography teachers should prepare enough theory and practice to organize cooperative learning classes,and should not be rushed.(4)There are special students in each class who are not willing to participate in cooperative learning,and there is a phenomenon of polarization of students'geography-learning efficiency.Geography teachers should exert the power of groups through walking activities to stimulate the special students' interest in geography cooperative learning.(5)Timely and effective evaluation can play a positive role in guiding students'geography-learning efficiency,but geography teachers have a certain deviation in the direction of evaluation due to the problem of insufficient theoretical learning and organization ability.Geography teachers should improve the cooperative learning evaluation system,and consciously guide students to improve the operation skills and learning ability of geographic skills.However,this article does not test the optimization plan in practice,and there are still some shortcomings.I hope to continue to study and test through the future teaching and constantly improve the research results.
