In school education,the importance of students' extracurricular reading has been repeatedly emphasized.However,while Chinese extracurricular reading is being valued,mathematics extracurricular reading is often ignored.In recent years,the application of mathematical culture and history of mathematics in education has become a research hotspot,and extracurricular reading of mathematics is gradually receiving the attention of educational experts from all over the world,so the value is evident.However,teachers,students and parents have deviations and deficiencies in their understanding of mathematics extracurricular reading in practice.In order to rectify people's understanding of extracurricular reading in mathematics,to change the lack of mathematics extracurricular reading in school education,and to give full play to the educational value of mathematics extracurricular reading,the core problems to be solved in this research are:in the primary education stage,what value and functions does mathematics extracurricular reading have?What are the effective ways to achieve its educational value?Under the premise of demonstrating the value function of mathematics extracurricular reading,in order to ensure the pertinence and practical significance of the study,First I use questionnaires to understand the students' mathematics extracurricular reading in L primary school,find out the problems.Then I conduct action research based on the actual situation,to explore how to develop elementary school students'mathematics extracurricular reading can effectively realize the educational value,and then propose strategies and suggestions to the educators.The basic conclusions of this study are as follows:mathematics extracurricular reading has many functions,including helping to increase natural science knowledge,developing abstract logical thinking,and improving math learning interest.However,the survey found that in the actual situation of education,there are many problems such as insufficient quantity and poor quality of reading resources;low reading quality and poor planning during reading;lack of feedback and teacher's guidance;no reading atmosphere,etc.Based on this,we have explored paths that are beneficial to realize the educational value of mathematics extracurricular reading through action research,including strengthening the construction of the reading environment,providing reading guidance,establishing a reading evaluation mechanism,and carrying out reading exchange activities.
