Conflict And Regulation Of Intergenerational Relationships

Intergenerational cooperative parenting is an important part of the family life cycle.It is a model of intergenerational parenting in which two generations jointly cope with the pressure of fertility and resist social risks.It not only concerns the benign interaction of family intergenerational relations,but also affects the construction and development of a harmonious society.In the new historical period,how intergenerational cooperative parenting is formed,what are the new features,what are the intergenerational conflicts that accompany it,what are the causes,and how to regulate intergenerational conflicts,these are the questions to be answered in this paper.Taking the new type of intergenerational cooperative parenting as the entry point,the study on the conflict and adjustment of family intergenerational relations not only breaks through the traditional research perspective,but also broadens the research thinking of family sociology,and expands the thinking of the construction of harmonious family and the construction of child-bearing friendly social environment in the new era.Under the theoretical guidance of the Intergenerational Ambivalence,a qualitative research method was used to study the intergenerational relationships formed by the urban one-child families when raising 0-3 years old infants.The research object of the article is the two generations of women who are the main subjects of parenting,namely the mother and grandmother and the grandmother of the child.Firstly,the formation and characteristics of the new intergenerational cooperative parenting are introduced.Then,from the three levels of who will participate,how to nurture,and who is close to explain the multiple manifestations of intergenerational relationship conflicts in the new intergenerational cooperative parenting.Along with this,the causes of conflicts in intergenerational relations are analyzed from the different standpoints,times and emotions of intergenerational relations.Finally,from the three dimensions of individual,family and society,think about the adjustment strategy of the intergenerational relationship conflict in the new intergenerational cooperative parenting.Through research,we can find that the new intergenerational cooperativetending shows the characteristics of dual-generation and maternity of intergenerational cooperative tending,and is based on the dynamic change process of a certain form of care,care center,and nurture focus: the grand family is involved in the nuclear family as a whole.The two generations of women are mainly nurturing,and the center of power in the parenting has shifted downward,but the fixed power relationship pattern has not been completely formed.In the new intergenerational cooperative parenting,the essence of intergenerational relationship conflict is the Intergenerational Ambivalence: not only want to be independent,and strive for the right to speak and make decisions,but can not be separated from family role needs and role play,thus forming a game between individuals and structure.In addition,intergenerational relationship conflicts are not unidirectional and only have negative functions.The adjustment of conflicts is conducive to better intergenerational parenting.Regulating intergenerational conflicts requires not only efforts within the family,but also the support and protection of the social care system.
