| Since the 1980s,with the deepening of reform and opening up,our family values have undergone significant changes. On the one hand, due to the continuous progress of marketization and urbanization, more and more parents leave their children to work and seek higher economic returns;on the other hand, with the change of China's Marriage Law and the spread of Western ideas, the divorce rate continues to rise, and single-parent families increase year by year.Under the combined effect of the above factors, more and more minor children have a series of problems in the process of growing up due to the absence of parents, which ultimately affects the development of their education level.Studies have shown that the development of the education level of minor children is closely related to the absence of parents. Therefore, based on the data of China Family Tracking Survey(CFPS)in 2012,2014 and 2016,this paper explores the impact of parental absence on the educational development level of minor children.Firstly, this paper divides falilies into two dimensions:the living arrangement of children and parents and the marital status of parents, and constructs a comprehensive index system to measure the educational development level of minor children.Secondly, the impact of parental absence on the educational development level of minor children in the process of their gro.vth is analyzed by the PSM method, and the robustness analysis is made by gender.Thirdly, the influence of parental absence on the educational development of minor children under divorce is analyzed by using the double difference method(DID).The robustness of the model is tested by establishing the propensity matching double difference model(PSM-DID).The results show that:(1)In the process of growing up,the influence of parental absence on children's education development is also different.Among them, the negative impact of the absence of mother on the development of children's education is the greatest.(2)The influence of parental absence on the educational development of children of different genders is also different. The absence of parents only has a significant negative effect on girls, educational development;the absence of mothers has a significant negative impact on boys' and girls'educational development;and the absence of fathers has no significant impact on boys' and girls'educational development.(3)Parents,divorce has a significant negative impact on the development of children's education, and the impact is spreading faster.Among them, the gender factor of children significantly aggravates the negative effect of divorce on children, while the household registration type, children,s educational expectations, educational savings, school type and other factors have played a certain inhibitory role in the decline of children's educational development level. |
