A Survey And Analysis On Parental Quality For Children's Education In Primary And Middle Schools In Downtown Area, Yuxi, Yunnan Province

With the development of society, more and more attention is being paid to family education.Whether the family can perform its unique educational function to full extent and whether parents can undertake the responsibility of educating their children better have become the important foundation of family happiness and the advance of society. Parental quality for the children's education has been the key factor affecting the success of family education and one important project being studied heatedly.Considering family education research in China, however, there are few studies on parents who are main conductors of family education, and even fewer studies on parental quality for the children's education which is a crucial element influencing family education. Thus, my survey on the current state of the parental quality for education can probably bring some scientific clues for the guide and implantation of family education, and even enrich the information in this field.This paper shows its own framework on study and analysis on the basis of the relevant researching findings and materials.The content of the paper includes:Chapter One: Introduction. It consists of two parts: research background and literature review. First, research background is articulated from three aspects which include the relationship between parental quality for the children's education and social advancement and development, the inadequacy in research on parental quality for the children's education, and the reason to conduct the study in Yuxi. Then a literature review on parental quality for the children's education is provided.Chapter Two: Design of the study. It includes the purpose, the significance, the objects, methodology and outline of the study. Key concepts are explained.Chapter Three: Survey on the status quo of parental quality for children's education. About 700 parents from 12 primary and middle schools in Yuxi downtown were selected for the survey. Self-designed questionnaires were used. The data was analyzed by using SPSS11.5.Chapter Four: Results and analysis. The analysis is around four aspects, namely, background information of parental quality for children education (child information, parents information, family education information), present level of parental quality for children education , the difference between the quality of parents of primary school students and those of middle school students (with a focus on four areas: educational concept, educational attitude, educational ability and educational behavior),the related analysis between parental quality for children's education and various factors.Chapter Five: Conclusion and suggestions. The conclusion is drawn from the results and analysis of the survey. Suggestions on improving parental quality for children's education in Yuxi are provided based on the conclusion as well as the actual practice of the family education of the local parents.
