In the era of teaching reform,with the continuous changes in education,vocational education,as an important part of Chinese secondary education content,plays a crucial leading role in promoting the cultivation of applied talents in schools.It plays an important role in the innovation and promotion of classroom teaching.As a manifestation of divergent thinking,mind mapping has been increasingly applied to subject teaching.It uses text,lines,colors,pictures and other forms,and uses left and right brains to think,turning a lot of cumbersome information into colored,highly organized,easy-to-remember graphs,which is an efficient way of learning and working.Mind mapping has been introduced to China since the beginning of this century.In 2004,there was an uproar in the field of education in China,which was then widely used in the field of elementary and secondary education and higher education.However,the application of mind mapping in the teaching of secondary vocational education is still scarce.The "Hotel Public Relations" course is a professional course for the vocational hotel service major,so case analysis of the "Hotel Public Relations" course has practical significance.This paper adopts two research methods: questionnaire survey method and interview method to conduct interview and questionnaire survey on the professional course teachers and students of a vocational hotel service major.First of all,the feasibility of applying mind mapping to the teaching design of secondary vocational courses is analyzed.Secondly,apply mind mapping to the teaching design of the "Hotel Public Relations" course in the vocational school,from the analysis of teaching design principles,the teaching design program analysis,the teaching front-end analysis,the teaching content analysis,the teaching process analysis,the teaching evaluation analysis,and the teaching case analysis.In addition,the advantages of applying mind mapping are analyzed from the perspective of students and teachers.Finally,on the basis of investigation and research,it proposes designing scientific teaching activities to promote the development of students' brains;citing real case to develop students' thinking skills;presenting a structured knowledge framework to improve the optimization of students' cognitive level.This paper also puts forward three targeted teaching suggestions: Improve teachers' ability to draw mind mapping;Improve the ability of teachers to design teaching;Improve integration with other learning strategies.Due to the limitation of research time,research level and data collection,this paper still has many shortcomings.However,the innovation of this paper lies in the specific research object to the hotel service students of vocational colleges,and the specific knowledge and theoretical knowledge in the "Hotel Public Relations" course are analyzed through cases.It has a promoting effect on the teaching of the "Hotel Public Relations" course of the vocational hotel service major.
