The Study On Practice Capability Cultivating Of Students Of Hotel Management Major In Secondary Vocational Schools

The objective requirements of economic and social development to the talents of secondary vocational field, determines the cultivation of the students’ practical ability as the cultivating goal of the secondary vocational education. Practical capability is the core of teaching of secondary vocational education and the basic ability that the students of secondary vocational school must have. As the one who is closely related to the economic development, the secondary vocational education must directly face to labor market and talents cultivate practical talents, such as applied talents and practical talents at the working frontline. Society needs all kinds of talents who are not only rich in professional knowledge with their own occupational fields, but also are required to have solid professional skills. We must make a capability centered teaching plan, construct teaching system of professional practice, build a double-quality teachers, construct advanced practical teaching base that has advanced condition and regular operation, and take the pattern of production, education&research as the mode of running school in order to improve the practical capability of students. Therefore, the primary task of secondary vocational school is to cultivate students’ practical capability by various methods.The purpose of cultivating the students of hotel management major in secondary vocational technical schools can adjust to the needs of socialist modernization and work in the first-line position, training attendants and managers with highly integrated professional ability. They are well developed morally, intellectually, physically and aesthetically. In this paper, I take Yinchuan vocational and technical college as the object of research, intends to present survey the present situation of students’ practical ability cultivated by the secondary vocational school, researching the problem of cultivating students’ practical ability at present. Begin with the practical ability which students must obtain, the students of Hotel management major at secondary vocational technical schools sum up the rules of forming practical ability and the features of practical activities to conclude the methods of cultivating students’ practical ability and discuss the existing problem during the process of cultivation by analyzing content of practical ability. Constructing of practical teaching model of "2+1+1=2" for hotel management major, building a high-quality teaching group, exploring take the pattern of production, education&research as the mode, constructing teaching system of professional practice and promoting the level of cultivating student’s practical ability are my suggestions.In a word, I hope the secondary school can take employment as a guide, take service as a purpose, and reform teaching methods by cultivating the students’ practical ability as the most important part in school work. The students of secondary vocational school need to strengthen their ability to practice in order to meet the needs of economy development and society.
