| The newly revised high school mathematics curriculum standard incorporates mathematical modeling into one of the six core literacy of mathematics, and clarifies the class time requirement of high school mathematics modeling activities, providing a basis for conducting mathematical modeling activities in high school. The ability of evaluation is an important part of the educational goal.It is a high-level mathematics thinking ability and an important part of the mathematics communication ability. It has received extensive attention from educational researchers. This study is aimed to discuss how to train high school students' ability to evaluate mathematics problems through mathematical modeling activities. This study was conducted in the form of action research, using a qualitative and quantitative mixed research method, mainly using questionnaires and interviews to collect data, using grounded theory to analyze interview data.Based on the reflection of the teaching process, the analysis of the student questionnaire and the teacher interview results, this study mainly draws the following conclusions:(1)This study proposes a research framework for training high school students' ability to evaluate mathematics problems through mathematical modeling activities from the three dimensions, which consist the capacity structure of evaluating mathematics problems, the content of mathematics modeling in high school, and the stage of mathematics modeling activities in high school.(2)The definition of the ability to evaluate mathematics problems is the ability to draw conclusions or opinions through the analysis and judgment of mathematics problems, which based on the understanding of mathematics problems. The ability to evaluate mathematics problems includes the analysis and judgment of the problems before solving problems and the summary and reflection of the problems after solving problems. The ability to evaluate mathematics problems is mainly reflected in the evaluation of the four aspects of the situation, scientific, inquiry process and application value of mathematics problems.(3)The difficulties in popularization of the ability to evaluate problems are as follows:First, the ability to evaluate problems puts forward high demands on students.Second, there are difficulties in clearly understanding the connotation and extension of the ability to evaluate problems.Third, there are difficulties in examining the ability to evaluate problems.Fourth,if we want to identify the ability to evaluate problems as the "Fifth Ability",we should emphasize the evaluation after solving problems.(4)It is feasible to train students' ability to evaluate mathematics problems through mathematical modeling activities. On the one hand, mathematical modeling activities have been warmly welcomed by students;on the other hand, the ability to evaluate problems can be infiltrated in all aspects of mathematical modeling activities. |
