For a long time, the imbalance of economic development between urban and rural areas has a profound impact on all aspects of the development of basic education in urban and rural areas, including school teaching space. So,in this context, what is the status quo of urban and rural school teaching space? What are the differences between the two? Therefore, based on the perspective of space, this study analyzes the differences and spatial problems between urban and rural primary school teaching space, hoping to reflect the status quo of unbalanced development of urban and rural basic education through the dimension of teaching space and provide a space thinking and path to narrow the gap between urban and rural basic education development. In order to understand teaching space from the perspective of multi-disciplinary space theory,we believe that teaching space refers to the place where teaching activities or learning activities occur and the coexistence of various material and social factors. On the basis of in-depth understanding of the concept of teaching space, this study takes part of urban and rural primary schools in Jinan and Linyi city of Shandong Province as the research object, and systematically investigates the differences between the teaching space of urban and rural primary schools in terms of students' learning space, teachers' personal space and school public space through the research methods of participatory observation and non participatory observation Talk about,in-depth understanding of teachers and students on their own school teaching space evaluation, experience and demand.Through investigation and analysis,it is found that most urban primary schools have greater advantages in the cultural construction, information construction and facilities and environment construction of students' learning space, and rearrange the teachers' personal space, fully tap the potential functions of school public space, and create a campus learning environment where students can read and learn everywhere. However, most of the rural primary schools are relatively backward in the cultural construction, information construction and material facilities of the students' learning space, the school public space is not fully utilized, the function is single, and the cultural atmosphere of the whole school teaching space is relatively thin.Through investigation and research,it is found that although some urban primary schools are constantly optimizing teaching space and improving learning environment, there are still problems such as lack of flexibility in spatial layout, closed spatial structure and single spatial function compared with the open teaching space at home and abroad, while the teaching space of rural primary schools is relatively backward in information construction, idle space resourcesand other problems To some extent,it restricts the deep development of school education and teaching. Therefore, with the continuous development of education reform, the constant proposal of new education concepts and the continuous integration of information technology and education, the reform and development of primary school teaching space in the future will pay more attention to student-centered,highlighting the humanity of teaching space;guided by education reform, more in line with the needs of education reform and development, highlighting the education concept and characteristics of the times;and With the support of information technology,it is more intelligent and networked.Furthermore, the future oriented teaching space in primary schools should turn to a free, open and shared space form,so as to promote the transformation of teaching and learning methods and the harmonious construction of interpersonal relations in a spatial way.
