Science and technology are profoundly affecting people's learning, work and life by their speedy development. At the same time,human-beings are enjoying influences brought by science and technology. In order to meet the needs of talents required by the era of information, nations around the world are highlighting the cultivation of information literacy which is easy to realize by guiding primary students to take Information Technology Course,ITC.However, the information technology education in China starts late.By now,in China, the development of ITC is still in the initial stage, and there are some problems in the aspects of teaching design, classroom teaching and teaching implementation etc are in needy to be complemented. At present, the artificial intelligence education is under fierce development, and the teaching design based on STEAM education is also widely used in front-line teaching. In this context, this study integrates the concept of STEAM education into teaching design of ITC in primary schools, draws on an internationally influential teaching design model, constructs a Teaching Design Model for Primary ITCs Based on STEAM Education, implements corresponding teaching practice. The following are main researches process and results. This study puts forward realistic teaching problems in primary schools of ITCs by literature research method and research questions under the improvement of information literacy requirements by society. Then, this study designs a Teaching Design Model for Primary ITCs Based on STEAM Education by comprehensive consideration of STEAM education's connotation, theories, prominent models of teaching design, and research status of ITCs in primary schools. Finally,to verify the teaching design model, this study applies it into teaching practice by a longitudinal study of four months, and interviews primary teachers after teaching experiments. The study achieves the following outcomes: first, primary students performs good both in traditional tri-dimensional goals and the STEAM skills' goals;second, results of the pretest and posttest questionnaire states that primary students have an increase over 40% under the premise of learn to practice, which also indicates students' learning effects,problem-solved competence, language expression competence,inter-discipline awareness, artistic aesthetics are improved and ameliorated, and lays foundation for elementary students' information literacy.Based on the results of per and last test questionnaire research and teachers' interview, the Teaching Design Model for Primary ITCs Based on STEAM Education in this study could effectively assist teachers to achieve teaching goals, improve teaching results. At the same time, this model could improve teaching status in ITCs like the scarcity of course status, the single teaching method and stimulate primary students learning interests, achievements and outcomes. Therefore,it is hoped that the Teaching Design Model for Primary ITCs Based on STEAM Education could find a suitable teaching method for the relatively boring ITCs,and provide references for the teaching for first-line ITCs' teachers in primary schools.
