As the world enters the era of knowledge economy,all countries in the world regard the development of science and technology as an important means to enhance their national strength.The development of science and technology depends on talents,and the cultivation of talents can not be separated from education.Therefore,the development of science and technology education and the cultivation of young people's scientific and technological quality are more and more concerned by the educational circles and the whole society.In order to respond to the call of the state and conform to the trend of the times,extracurricular science and technology activities have been carried out in primary and secondary schools in Chongqing.In order to better help primary and secondary schools in Chongqing to carry out extracurricular science and technology activities,it is necessary to grasp the problems existing in the development of extracurricular science and technology activities in primary schools.This paper takes the current situation of extracurricular science and technology activities in primary schools in the main urban area of Chongqing as the object of study,and the primary schools in Shapingba District as the object of investigation.According to random sampling method,students,teachers and some parents of five primary schools were selected in Shapingba District.Questionnaires were used to investigate students,parents and teachers,interviews with teachers were used to further understand the situation,and observation method was used to observe the situation of extracurricular activities in primary schools,in order to find out the problems encountered by teachers and students in extracurricular activities.?This survey mainly involves the motivation,content,time and venue of the activities.Through the statistics of the survey results,it is found that there are many problems in the development of extracurricular science and technology activities in primary schools in Shapingba District,such as the low frequency and frequency of students' activities;insufficient attention paid by schools;weak professional teachers;inadequate investment in activities funds;limited available places;and the social atmosphere for fostering scientific quality has not yet formed.Generally speaking,the difficulties of extracurricular science and technology activities in primary schools lie in the four aspects of students,schools,families andsociety,which have their own emphasis and overlap.Combining with the causes,they can be summed up as three points: understanding problems,financing problems and teachers' problems.Therefore,it is proposed that we should renew our concept,strengthen our understanding and deepen our understanding of science and technology activities;government should take the lead,cooperate internally and externally,and solve funds through multiple channels.To improve the current situation of extracurricular science and technology activities in primary schools,we should pay more attention,expand training and improve the construction of professional teachers.
