Education think tank is a crucial institutional arrangement under the modernization structure of education governance.A correct understanding of the influencing factors of the comprehensive influence of Education think tanks will help promote the process of building anew national education think tanks.In order to explore various combinations of conditional variables that affect the comprehensive influence of Education think tanks,we collected data samples of 43 Education think tanks around the world and use fuzzy-setqualitative comparative analysis(fsQCA)to analyze factors including political environment,policy influence,academic influence,social influence,international influence,growth ability,and resource endowment.After comparison and analysis,the study draws the following conclusions:Conclusion 1:For professional education think tanks,the combined effects of policy influence,high academic influence,high social influence,high international influence and good political environment are more likely to promote the formation of high comprehensive influence.Conclusion 2:For comprehensive education think tanks,satisf-actory responses should be made in terms of policy influence,academic influence,social influence,international influence,growth ability and resource endowment,as well as a good political environment.Protect and avoid the existence of "short board" that constrains the formation of high comprehensive influence.Conclusion 3:Regardless of whether it is a professional education think tank or a comprehensive education thiink tank,the political environment,policy influence,and international influence have the highest frequency in the conditional group of high comprehensive influence,which are the dominant condition variables of the comprehensive influence of education think tanks.Conclusion 4:Whether it is a professional education think tank or a comprehensive education think tank,the influence of academic influence,social influence,think tank growth ability and think tank resource endowment on the development of think tanks is not as good as the political environment,policy influence and international influence.But these factors are equally important for the formation of comprehensive influence of think tanks,and are auxiliary condition variables for the comprehensive influence of education think tanks.Conclusion 5:Regardless of whether it is a professional education think tank or a comprehensive education think tank,there is no fixed conditional combination formula for the formation of high comprehensive influence.A reasonable combination of different influencing factors can produce h igh comprehensive influence.Based oin the discussion and analysis of the influencing factors of the comprehensive influence of 43 education think tanks,this study proposes its reference and enlightenment to the construction of Chinese education think tanks from the Jnational level and think tank level.The state should create a good political environment for the development of new education think tanks,and build a new type of education think tank participation government decision-making consultation framework.The think tank itself should carry out comprehensive influence improvement from seven aspects:exploire multiple paths and strengthen policy influence;form research expertise and improve academic influence;participate in social services and exert social iniluence;broaden research horizons and expand the international influence;formulate development strategies to enhance growth capacity;expand funding sources and optimize resource endowments;Optimize the combination of conditions to shape th e comprehensive influence.
