The chemistry competition is different from the college entrance examination,It has the unique charm of intermediate, artistic and cutting edge. The competition test examines the students' comprehensive ability and has certain rules and characteristics. However, the current ability examination of the test questions still remains on the relatively vague expression of "capability".This paper uses SOLO taxonomy theory as the research theory of analytical chemistry competition test questions. It is expected that the characteristics of the students' thinking ability level and the chemistry subject ability level can be found in the study,Finding a good balance between chemistry competition and chemistry subject ability development will help the overall development of gifted students. This paper combs the research summary of SOLO taxonomy theory and chemistry subject ability ability at home and abroad, combined with the characteristics of chemistry subject, according to the level of thinking ability used in the solution, formulates the SOLO test title taxonomy standard that conforms to the chemical competition.Divide the questions into four SOLO levels,namely:Uni-structural level(U),Multi-structural level(M),Relational level(R),and Extended Abstract level(E).Using the above criteria, this paper uses the text analysis method to classify SOLO at the preliminary test of the chemistry competition in the past 20 years from 1998 to 2017.Determine the proportion of each level of thinking in each module of the competition test. Finally, the research conclusions are obtained:(1)It is feasible to study the ability of high school chemistry competition test questions according to SOLO taxonomy theory;(2)The test questions have obvious SOLO gradients and grades, and the ability level division is clear and obvious;(3)The examination of the test results from the knowledge examination to the ability training.Based on the above conclusions, suggestions are made for participating students, training teachers, and question makers: Students participating in the competition should pay attention to the development of innovative ability;Training teachers should help students to lay down basic knowledge and improve their ability;Question makers canuse the SOLO taxonomy theory to regulate the thinking ability requirements of the test questions, reasonably assign the SOLO level of the test questions.
