The Research On The Influencing Factors And The Improving Strategies Of Mini Basketball Referees In Shaanxi

Mini-Basketball League holds the competitions among 6-12 years' old children players with the purpose of cultivating Chinese children's interests in doing sports and strengthening their physical constitutions.However,since mini-basketball game is still in its initial stage of development,there is no real qualified referee of this game,and it is unavoidably appears a lot of imperfections in judging in mini-basketball game.The author,therefore,focus on the factors which influence the referee's judgment mostly,tries to discuss the methods of reducing such influences and improving the referee's ability of judging.Mini-basketball referees should understand and bear in mind that ‘instructing and cultivating' the younger players is the key concept of holding this level's competitions.This aim is also in accord with the development of ‘School Basketball Project' in China by widely organizing school sports activities and improving Chinese teens' physical exercise frequency.In order to respond to the call from ‘Healthy China Project' and ‘National Fitness Program',these efforts will help to improve young people's physical constitutions and it is also a good way to cultivate more young talent players.This current research takes Shaanxi mini-basketball referees as a case study,the author applies the following main methodologies to conducting his research: a.to reference to the latest target and concept of CBA;b.to compare the current situation of the development of mini-basketball with adults' basketball game's regulations;c.to do literature review on domestic and international research studies of min-basketball referees and competitions;d.to do questionnaire among 300 practical referees in Shaanxi;e.to interview several international level and national level referees.Then,the author obtains the following main research results:(1).The main target of the development of mini-basketball in Shaanxi is to cultivate the younger players' interests.The development of this event will strengthen the teen's physical constitutions and enlarge the chances of doing sports among them.In the course of playing mini-basketball,teens may learn and understand theregulations and the sports spirits gradually.This is a good way to meet the idea of ‘to strengthen moral education and cultivate people' in today's era.(2).The development of mini-basketball in Shaanxi is still in the initial stage at present time.We have less experience of holding national games although we have ability of conducting province level games.There are shortages in professional mini-basketball referees and the related research studies.(3).In this case study,the author finds that the main influencing factors of min-basketball referees' judgement are: the differences between adults basketball games' regulations and mini-basketball games' ones;the differences between adult players and teen players in the comprehension abilities of the regulations;the differences of the degree of familiarities to the regulations among referees;and the factors of referees' understanding on the purpose of mini-basketball games,the practical experience of referees,the different measuring degree among individual referee;the competition surrounding factors;and the practical judging abilities of referees,etc.(4).Most of referees in this research show the uncertainty in their judgements due to the differences in regulations and players.One main influencing factor is about the degree of the referee's understanding on the regulations.The author believes that this factor will directly influence if the referee can educating and teaching the younger players to play in the correct way.However,the practical experience and the ability of taking reasonable degree of measurement in judgement are the key points to tell if the referee makes the competition carry on smoothly.(5).The mini-basketball referees should change their mind when judging.They are expected to focus more on educating and instructing the younger players,to explain the regulations carefully and patiently.Their purpose of judging is to help the younger players build up correct understanding on playing mini-basketball and sports spirits.(6).The research objects should reinforce their study in related theories and enlarge their chances of practical judgment,they also should be always in justice andequity in judging.In addition,the selection test of referees should be strict and professional.
