Education plays an important role in the development of modern countries and is an important manifestation of national comprehensive competitiveness.Among them, higher education is at the top of the whole education system, which can represent the development of a country's education. At the macro level, the development of higher education can promote the development of national economy, realize the construction of innovative country and improve the international competitiveness of the country. At the micro level, higher education is of great significance to the development of individual life, and the acceptance of higher education can greatly increase personal income and social status.Since the reform and opening-up,higher education has experienced a rapid development stage, and the proportion of higher education has been increasing. In the 90's,the higher education system underwent adjustment and development, and gradually entered the popularization stage of higher education. With the development of higher education, people begin to pay more attention to whether the opportunity of higher education is fairly distributed in different strata;higher education is the tool of the upper social family to maintain their original social status,or the effective way for the disadvantaged families to realize upward mobility. Therefore, the study of the mobility of higher education in intergenerational and its transfer mechanism is not only conducive to the fair distribution of higher education opportunities, but also has great significance for promoting social equity.Firstly, this paper introduces the research background and significance of the topic, and reviews the literature review at home and abroad from two aspects of the intergenerational mobility and the transfer mechanism of education intergenerational flow.Secondly, the relevant concepts are defined, and the relevant theoretical basis is introduced. Then,it introduces the present situation of the development of higher education from two aspects, and compares the gender gap,urban-rural gap and regional disparity in the development of higher education.Thirdly, this paper empirically analyzes the mobility between generations of higher education by using CHIP2013 data, and examines the transfer mechanism between generations of higher education from the perspective of family capital and number of children. Finally,on the basis of the relevant conclusions, the corresponding policy suggestions are given. The empirical research indicates that higher education has a strong transmission between generations, that is,the probability of children receiving higher education can be greatly improved by their parents ' higher education.Family capital and number of children play an important role in the intergenerational transmission of higher education, among them, the economic capital, political capital, social capital and cultural capital in the family capital play a positive role in the intergenerational transmission of higher education, and the parents who receive higher education can obtain more family capital so as to improve their children's probability of receiving higher education. The impact path of the number of children is that the parents of higher education choose to have fewer children, which indirectly increases their children's chances of obtaining higher education. At the same time,we find that there are disparities between urban and rural areas. In order to improve the mobility of higher education in the intergenerational, narrow the gap between urban and rural areas and regional disparities, promote social equity. In this paper, the following policy suggestions are given: first, the expansion of higher education scale should be accompanied by more educational resources being skewed towards rural areas and the Midwest.Second, enlarging the enrollment quota of universities and colleges to the central and western provinces, and improving students ' possibility of higher education.Third,we should improve the financial system of impoverished students, reduce the economic pressure of disadvantaged families and reduce the dropout behavior of students due to economic reasons. Finally,we should strengthen the implementation of rural teachers' plan and improve the quality of rural school education. To strengthen the propaganda of maternity, postnatal birth in rural areas and continue to implement the family planning policy.Increase the likelihood of higher education by controlling the number of children and increasing the family capital acquired by individual areas.
