Research On The Media Paradox Environment Of Homeschooling In China

In recent years,the educational practice of "home schooling" has been widely discussed by the public and attracted more and more attention.The news media pay attention to "home schooling",presenting the practice of "home schooling" in China,which has an important impact on the public's understanding of the development status of "home schooling" and the formation of value judgment.Based on the agenda-setting theory and the empirical research method,this paper makes a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the intensity,topics and orientation of the public opinion of "home-schooling" in China from January 2000 to December 2018 in CNKI Newspaper Database.In order to understand the current situation of "home schooling" public opinion,guide and standardize the development of "home schooling" phenomenon.In terms of the intensity of public opinion,from the perspective of the trend of public opinion,the trend of "home-schooling" public opinion reports fluctuates with the publication of educational reports and policies.Comprehensive newspapers pay most attention to "home-schooling",and all kinds of newspaper reports are closely related to the hot spots.In terms of coverage,the overall situation of coverage is mainly short stories,and there are more in-depth reports in national newspapers.The geographical distribution of the reports is characterized by more reports in economically developed areas.In terms of public opinion issues,the news media mainly focus on five types of issues,among which the most attention is paid to the motivation of the development of "home schooling".With the passage of time,the attention to legal issues has gradually increased.From the point of view of the subject of concern,"home-schooling" parents have the most discourse,while the government and children have relatively less discourse.The degree of concern of the subject of public opinion varies with the differences of their respective positions.The discourse analysis of key issues reveals that the main reason why parents choose "home schooling" is their discontent with the disadvantages of school education.The discussion of legal issues has been influenced by government notification,educational standpoint and self-interest demands,while the issue of children's development mainly focuses on the issue of children's socialization.In the direction of public opinion,from the point of view of the title of publicopinion,in the early stage of the report,it mainly introduces foreign experience and is more objective and neutral.At the peak of the report,neutral skepticism was prevalent.During the period of suspension of attention,Education Department notices and document interpretations are the main ones,and most of them criticize and deny it.From the perspective of the content of public opinion,the media at all levels have a clear orientation of public opinion,mainly with a neutral tendency,and most of the practitioners who are closely related to "home schooling" agree with it.According to the intensity of public opinion,the topic of public opinion and the current situation of "home schooling" public opinion,it is necessary to guide the public opinion of the news media.First of all,we need to monitor the public opinion dynamics of "home schooling",establish a normal monitoring system and pay attention to the analysis of public information reports,so as to timely understand public demands.Secondly,we should strengthen the topic setting of "home schooling".Through the construction of the platform,the experience sharing and communication between the public and the practice subjects of "home schooling" will be strengthened.The media should set the agenda through multiple channels,expand the sources of public opinion information and strengthen the depth of reporting.Finally,we should strengthen the guidance of public opinion on "home schooling".The media should adhere to the news standpoint while paying attention to the pedagogical standpoint and perspective to report educational news.Educational researchers should take the initiative to move to the public sphere and strengthen communication with the media.Educational management departments should establish interactive participation mechanism to guide the development of public opinion.
