With the rapid development of higher education in China,it is particularly important to accelerate the development of teaching management in order to further improve the teaching quality of colleges and universities and cultivate innovative talents required by the new era.Teaching management,as the core of various management work in colleges and universities,is not only the key to improve teaching quality,but also the basic guarantee for the output of high-level talents.In this situation,universities should fully realize the importance of teaching management,constantly reform and innovate teaching management methods and ideas,so as to further improve the teaching management in colleges and universities,and promote the overall level of teaching management in colleges and universities.This paper constructs the Universities Teaching management-capability Maturity Model(UTM-CMM for short)by using the Capability Maturity Model,so as to promote the rise of the Teaching Management ability of Universities.CMM(Capability Maturity Model,CMM for short)was made in America in the 1980 s at Carnegie Mellon university's Software Engineering Institute(Software Engineering Institute,SEI for short),the design of the CMM is used to solve the various problems of the Software development process,improve the level of Software development,but with the CMM broad success in the Software industry,on the basis of the CMM framework to build other Capability Maturity Model,began to spread to various industries.In this paper,the application of CMM in teaching management in universities can enrich the theory of teaching management in universities on the one hand,and provide certain ideas for the innovation and development of teaching management on the other hand.First teaching management in colleges and universities at home and abroad related theory and application research of present situation,the capability maturity model background,theoretical basis and application was studied and summarized,and the existing research and application status in a certain inspiration: university teaching management research from both theory and practice which has a lot of deep space and method.Combining the core elements of college teaching management with the overall framework of CMM,the new model not only broadens the development thinking of college teaching management,but also provides some reference for the improvement ofcollege teaching management process and evaluation of teaching management level.Secondly,this paper expounds the general situation of CMM,studies the application premise,management concept and extensibility of CMM,analyzes its applicability in teaching management in colleges and universities,and puts forward the assumption of constructing CMM for teaching management in colleges and universities.Thirdly,on the basis of the previous research,the maturity level of the new model is divided,the structural framework of the new model is designed,key themes and key process areas are extracted,and the operation characteristics of the new model are analyzed on the basis of the construction results,so as to complete the construction of the universities teaching management capability maturity model.Finally,based on the universities teaching management capability maturity model,this paper further determines the application scheme of the model and the key points to be noted in the application,so as to solve the problems encountered in the application of the new model.
