| STEAM course is one of the most popular educational concept and curriculum concept in the world.It aims to break down the barriers of disciplines,deepen integration of knowledge,and base on the deep involvement of students in project learning and contextual learning.It points to the cultivation of students’ practical ability,cooperative communication ability,innovation ability and comprehensive quality.Since the introduction of STEAM courses,they have been promoted and implemented all over the country.However,in reality,people’s understanding of STEAM courses is still mostly based on perceptual knowledge.In practice and in theory,there are misunderstandings and deviations,and even misuses.It is necessary to probe into its connotation,analyze its implementation status and problems,and put forward Suggestions for improvement.This study selected four representative primary schools in hangzhou that implemented STEAM curriculum for in-depth investigation and research.The study found that people have a bias in understanding the connotation of STEAM.80% of primary school teachers still think that they are only one course,and they lack the recognition of their value.The knowledge and skills required by STEAM courses are difficult to implement in practice,and it is common to put together knowledge of several subjects.The curriculum theme lacks integration,the content integration is not enough and the teaching method is traditional.The students’ participation in the classroom is not high enough,and insufficient hands-on operation and innovative practice ability.Even 90% of schools have classified STEAM courses as extended courses,There is a relative lack of support for teachers,venues,and other courses.There is no effective curriculum evaluation system.The existence of these problems seriously restricts the implementation and implementation of STEAM course spirit.Through the understanding of the status quo and analysis of problems,the author tries to put forward the following improvement strategies.The first is to strengthen the top-level design of the curriculum,to enhance the integrity and systematicness of the curriculum.The second is to build the curriculum resource library.The third is to promote the project-based learning method,the 5E learning circle teaching model.The fourth is to improve the curriculum evaluation system and support system.In a word,STEAM course is still a relatively new thing in China,and people’s understanding,cognizance and research on it still need to be further deepened.Although the research has carried out preliminary research on concept,connotation and practice,in view of the limitations of research ability,the deep problems of STEAM curriculum implementation have not been fully explored,and the effective improvement path needs further exploration. |
